Night fell upon the village and all was still. The village folk and shinobi were sleeping, all but one. My eyes snapped open and I stayed still, listening to see if everyone was asleep. Glancing over at Naruto, it took a few moments for my eyes to adjust to the dark, but finally I could see that he was sleeping peacefully in bed, a content smile on his lips. Sitting up, I quietly slipped out of bed, put my sandals on and escaped out of the bedroom window. I knew the chakra of the man I was after and so I was using that to track him, sneaking by the houses and seeing if I could feel it anywhere. The night was dark and chills ran down my spine though there was no cold air. Something felt wrong, but I wasn't sure what it was and that unnerved me....

Slowly slipping past the houses, lakes and farms, I concentrated closely on the chakra and closed in on it. The mans chakra was low but definitely coming from inside a barn on one of the farms. Coming to a halt outside the barn, I scanned the area to make sure nobody was around then leapt up onto the roof, not making a sound as I landed. Crouched low, I crept along the rooftop before hanging from the ledge and landing on an open window at the top of the barn. Glancing around, I honed in on the chakra and saw him lying there on a make shift bed at the top of the barn. Concentrating my chakra down to my feet, I walked upside down along the ceiling before I was stood above him. His eyes snapped open and a kunai flew up to graze my cheek, catching me by surprise. Hopping down from the roof, I landed in front of him and brought out my katana, going to slice his stomach but he jumped back. Each move I took forward, he would move backwards and parry my hit. Bringing out a kunai from my back pocket, I distracted him by going to strike from above before spinning down low and throwing the kunai at his leg. He let out a shout of surprise and pain before stumbling back, almost falling off of the wooden floor at the top of the barn and landing on some sheep below. Catching his shirt, I pulled him up and onto my katana. It pierced through his stomach, causing him to let out a groan and a cry while a satisfied smirk curled onto my lips.
"Where is she?" I hissed in his ear, feeling him try to squirm away but holding him steady. "Where is she?" I repeated, bringing the katana up slightly so it made a bigger stab wound. He let out another cry and began shaking as he realised his death was near.
"She's...... she's in the snowy mountains. You know where. She wants you.....to finally die...." He whimpered, confirming my thoughts on where she had gone with our children. Wanted me to die, huh? Poor woman, obsessed with the impossible. Pulling back, I gave him an innocent smile before slamming a kunai into his neck, causing him to gurgle blood and then pulled both the katana and kunai out, letting his body fall to the floor and soak the hay below.

Having killed one man, my blood lust kicked in and made me begin to crave more..... Keeping my katana out, I fought against the urge and backed away from the edge, moving towards the window. Distracted, my foot slipped and I fell from the window only to caught by strong arms. Looking up, I saw a disappointed Naruto staring back at me. Sighing, my blood lust disappeared and I jumped out of his arms, pulling out a cloth and cleaning my kunai and katana of the blood. It was silent between us, all the while I could feel his eyes burning holes into the back of my head. Finished with the cleaning, I turned and met his gaze, only to no longer find disappointment there but instead it was replaced with acceptance. Startled at the change in emotions and the acceptance there, my eyes flew open and I almost stepped back but held my ground. Raising an eyebrow, I watched him carefully.
"Well? Make a habit of stalking me, Naru?" I smirked, hiding the surprise on my face.
"Someone has to." He replied, his lips curving into a friendly grin. Being beaten by that easy going grin of his that I'd become fond of over the years, I groaned and let out a sigh.
"Cut it out. I know you don't like that I killed him." He nodded in agreement but came closer, throwing an arm around my shoulders.
"True. But I know you had your reasons...." Glancing up at him, I studied him for a few minutes before smiling and elbowing him in the side causing him to groan and pout before chuckling.
"Idiot." Beginning to walk back to the place we were staying, I felt a faint feel of a familiar chakra out in the fields. Naruto felt it too and came to a stop, looking out over the fields. Could it be?.....

Taking off at the same time, we rushed through the village and towards the fields where the chakra was becoming stronger. Seeing a figure fall to the ground a few feet in front of us, I pushed myself to run faster and caught the person before they hit the ground. Black hair, pale skin and glasses were what could be seen, along with dirty clothes and worn out sandals. Holding the girl, I felt my heart warm to see that it was Sarada. She had escaped! Looking up at Naruto, we both nodded before running back to where we were staying. Sakura and Sasuke would be ecstatic...

Arriving back at the house, we rushed through the window then along the hall towards Sakura and Sasuke's room. Bursting in, they jumped up alert before seeing us and relaxing. Their eyes then lowered to the figure in my arms and when they saw who it was, both of their eyes lit up and smiles curled onto their lips. Sakura jumped up and ran towards me, taking Sarada into her arms with tears in her eyes.
"You're ok..." Sakura breathed out, relief evident in her voice and tears beginning to fall down her cheeks.
"Mama?" Sarada whispered, stirring in her mother's arms. "Mama!" She exclaimed, gaining more energy and wrapping her arms around her mother's neck, hugging her back with as much enthusiasm. Sasuke stood up and came towards his wife and child, kneeling beside them and taking them both into his arms. Watching them, I started to miss my boy and Kiba... They looked like such a happy family in that moment that it made me feel more desperate to get my boy back. Looking over at Naruto, I saw he was smiling happily for them but his eyes told me he felt the same way I did.
"Sarada?" I called to her, seeing her head turn to look at me. "Was it only you who got out?" She nodded and seemed to recall something.
"There was this man...." She breathed, sounding exhausted. She must have run for miles.... "He caught Boruto and Kouki, they helped me get away to warn you. He knew you...."
"What did he look like?" I asked, trying to think of any man who might fit the description.
"Green eyes.... Brown hair.... Older than you all and deadly." She said, thinking hard about how he looked. I went through anyone who might fit the description in my head before realisation hit me. That pathetic son of a....... He was still alive? If only I'd killed him back then! Feeling my blood boil, I walked out of the room with the intention of hunting him down and killing him once and for all. Being grabbed by strong arms yet again tonight, I was held against Naruto's chest and I could tell that he refused to let go.
"You aren't going out alone. We've just found Sarada, let her rest up and we'll leave tomorrow morning. I want to leave just as much as you do but her safety comes first and we can't just send her back to Konoha on her own, nor will Sasuke or Sakura leave us be. You know this." He stated in a determined voice that left no room for argument. Letting out a slight growl, my body lost its fight as it normally did around this guy and I gave in. He was right. The god damn idiot was right.......
