"I used to think that love was something beautiful. Something that would fill the emptiness in my heart. If I only knew that I was far from the reality? Love wasn't sunshine and rainbow. Love was pain. It made you weak. Love isn't what they make it seem to be in movies and books. Love is just an imagination of our mind."

Reading books is what I do for a living. If you knew me, you'd also know that I always carry a book with me. If that isn't possible due a full bag, I'll just read a story on Wattpad.

"Blaire sweetheart, you have to hurry up otherwise you'll be late for your appointment," my mom yelled from downstairs.

You see, reading also makes me lose track of time. I looked at the clock and saw that it was already 3 in the afternoon. I have been reading for 4 hours now.

I quickly put my book away and grabbed everything I needed. I hated being late. One of my pet peeves is when people are late unless they have a good excuse, which they never really tend to have.

"Thank you, mom. I'll head out now." I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and headed towards the front door.

I got into my car and headed towards the dentist. I personally don't mind the dentist. I mean I graduated as a dentist this year. If there's one thing to hate about is their parking lots there. Since the dental practice I go to is located in a busy area so finding a parking spot was quite a task.

Luckily I soon found a spot but when I wanted to park in the spot, some other car beat me to it. Another pet peeve is when people are arrogant airheads. Didn't that person see that I had my flashing light on. How disrespectful.

Out of the car stepped a man. I'm not going to lie, he was quite good-looking from what I could see but the fact that he just stole my spot made him less appealing. Besides looking good-looking, he also looked like a heartless jerk. The way he carried himself in his suit. Due to me reading books, I knew businessmen were arrogant. I mean they did always turn out to be softies in the books I read but that's not the point.

I looked at the time and cursed. I only had two minutes to search for another spot. Thankfully I found a spot nearby 'my' previous spot so I didn't have to drive any longer than needed. I locked my car and ran towards the dental practice. Just as I walked in, I heard my name being called by my dentist.

"Good afternoon Blaire. How have you been?" My dentist greeted me and led me to his room. He was a middle-aged man with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was one of the main reasons I wanted to become a dentist. I would always admire how he knew what to do with my teeth when I was child. How he would make my teeth look 'healthy' again.

"Hello dr Aaron. I've been doing pretty good and how about you?" I put my bag next to my seat and sat down.

"That's good to hear and I've been doing good myself. Thank you. So shall we start?" I nodded my head and he started with his checkup.

"Blaire I would like to propose something to you," dr Aaron said after he was done. "Your mother told me that you were searching for a job and I would like to offer you a job here." He gave me a smile. "But I of course will have to see how you interact with patients and what you're capable of as a dentist before we can make it official."

"That would be great, thank you so much dr Aaron." I was thankful that my mom even thought of this. I would've never thought about working here at dr Aaron's practice.

"Don't worry about it. How about you help me with my next patient if you have time?" Dr Aaron asked while he was typing away on his computer.

"I'd love to." I did have some experience with patients. I mean that's a part of studying dentistry.

Before Dr Aaron went to call his next patient, he handed me a pair of gloves and a mouth cap. He soon came back with a man behind him. I couldn't really see his face but I could recognize him by his clothes. It was the same man from the parking lot. This had to be some joke.

"Mr. Eaton, this is Blaire Marston. I want to see what she's capable of as a dentist so if you don't mind, she'll be doing your checkup,' dr Aaron said as he let mr Eaton into the room.

"No, of course not but if you hurt me in just a slight way, you won't like the outcome," he said in a cold manner that send chills down my spine but apparently dr Aaron found some humor in it because he let out a small laugh.

"Of course, mr Eaton. I wouldn't dare to hurt you or any patient in matter." With this said, I got to work. Dr Aaron showed me the document with mr Eaton's previous visits. I was soon done and I felt quite good about what I did but there was still some doubt.

"Very well, Blaire. You did a great job. What did you think mr Eaton?" Dr Aaron asked while typing something onto his computer.

I turned towards him to see that he was already looking at me.

"Yeah, she did a decent job." I'll take that as a good. It's not like I had any high expectations from him.

Dr Aaron looked at me and gave me a reassuring smile. "Since you did a great job, I'd like you to offer a job here." I quickly agreed and thanked him for this chance. Dr Aaron stood up to let mr Eaton out.

"Jack can I have a word with you?" How does he know dr Aaron's first name? Dr Aaron told me to wait outside and that he would call me once they were done. After a few minutes mr Eaton walked out of the room with dr Aaron behind him. "Everything is arranged mr Eaton. Have a nice day."

When mr Eaton walked past me, he whispered in my ear. "I'll be seeing you soon again, Blaire." But what he said next is what surprised me. "Next time, you should park a bit faster. Wouldn't want anyone to steal your spot, right?" How did he know it was me? Before I could say anything back, he left.

I turned towards dr Aaron and he gave me a curious look but didn't question it. He told me to follow him so we could discuss the contract. We were done with everything after an hour.

"Thank you so much for this opportunity, dr Aaron." I stood up from my seat and gave him a handshake.

"It's nothing Blaire and please call me Jack. We're going to be colleagues after all." He handed me some files. "In these files, you can find the rules and also about what we expect from you. I'll be seeing you next week. Have a nice day, Blaire."

I thanked him and left to go back home.

I closed my eyes and let the smile take over my face.
