We soon arrived at what seemed like a fancy restaurant. Once we were inside, we were greeted by a hostess.

"Welcome at Il Piccolo Paradiso. Do you have a reservation?" She asked with a smile. I noticed how her eyes lingered on Tane. I mean I couldn't really blame her, he was a fine man after all.

"Yes, under the name Eaton." He didn't even give her a glance, he was staring at me. Why did he keep staring me? Maybe I should go to the bathroom to check whether something was on my face.

The hostess called a waitress to guide us to our table. Our waitress was a beautiful girl, who couldn't be older than 20.

I heard someone clear their throat. I looked at Tane and noticed that he was holding a chair out for me. Oh, what a gentleman. I sat down and thanked him.

"So tell me about yourself Blaire," he more and less demanded once he also was sitted.

"Well my name is Blaire Marston. I'm 24 years old. I like the color yellow and uh what would you like to know?" If there's one thing I'm bad at, it's introducing myself. What do you even tell someone about yourself?

Before Tane could answer, our waitress came back to ask us if we knew what we wanted to order. I let Tane order for me because I didn't know what to order. I had no clue as to why I trusted him enough to let him order for me.

"It's alright, I'll just introduce myself now. So my name is Tane Eaton. I own a family business, you probably know it the Eaton Enterprises. I'm 28 years old. My descent is Italian and American. I studied at Harvard," he finised with a sip of  his wine. He studied at Harvard, what impressive. But Eaton Enterprises? Never heard of it.

"Uh sorry to disappoint you but I've never heard of the Eaton Enterprises," I said. This seemed to shock him since he nearly choked on his wine.

Before he could say anything in return, the waitress came back with our food. We ate our food in silence. Tane seemed to be in deep thoughts. Did I hurt his ego or something? The thought made me laugh. After we were done with our main food. Tane ordered us dessert.

"I can't believe that you've never heard of my company. Does this mean you don't know who I am?" Tane asked as he broke our silence.

"No, am I supposed to know you?" I gave him a questioning look. I genuinely never heard of his name before the day I saw him at the dental practice. Oh no, he's probably one of those cocky businessmen who think the world revolves around them.

"Yes. I mean no." He cleared his throat. "How about we go to my penthouse after we're finished with our dessert?"

I should've probably seen this as a red flag but for some reason, I wanted to. I've always wanted to see how a penthouse looked like and this was my chance. It's not like something would happen to me.

"Sure." We soon were finished and Tane was nice enough to pay the bill.

After a 20 minutes ride we arrived at his penthouse. Everything looked so beautiful and we were just standing in the lobby. I couldn't help but admire everything.

"Close your mouth. It looks like you've never seen something like this." Tane gave me a scolding look once we were in the elevator. I was about to respond with that I actually indeed have never seen something like this but we had arrived at his penthouse

The interior of his penthouse was so beautiful. I was afraid to touch anything because it felt like if I did, something would break.

"So let's hurry this process by taking our clothes off," Tane said as he took his coat and shirt off.

"Excuse me?" I looked at Tane with a glare. "Why would I take my clothes off?"

"Well if we're going to f*ck, I want to able to touch each part of your body." He looked my body up and down.

"How dare you say that you, bastard?! Does it look I want to do it with you?" I yelled at him. I couldn't believe that men like him actually existed.

"Honestly you seem quite easy to get. I do wonder why you look so shocked. Why else would I ask you to come to my penthouse?" He asked as he raised an eyebrow.

He was right. How stupid of me. I've read this in enough books. I hated myself so much at the moment.

"I'll just leave now and pretend like this never happened." I grabbed my handbag and turned around to leave but before I could, Tane grabbed my wrist.

"Are you serious? I took you out to dinner, I was nice to you and you're just leaving me? Don't tell me, you actually thought I wanted to be just friends with you. How naive of you to think that this would be some cliché romance book. You're not even so beautiful so why would I waste my time on you. You know what, just leave." His words hurt me more than it should have but he was right. I was naive.

"I was right all along, you're a cold heartless jerk. People like you act you're all mighty but guess what? You don't matter that much, perhaps not even. You're just like every other person in this world. You might have more money and be famous as you claim but it doesn't give you more of a value as a human being." I pulled my wrist out of his grip and walked towards the elevator. I was too angry and hurt.

"You'll regret saying those words. I'll make sure to destroy everything you've worked for, Blaire Marston." He said as the doors of the elevator were closing.

His words send a chill down my spine.

I quickly ran outside once I was on the ground floor again. There I let my tears run freely down my face.

How could I have been so naive?
