Trying To Make New Friends
[ Third Persons Point of View ]
Dawn took a moment to calm down from the incident, shaking a little. She held in the tears wanting to come. She hated crying in front of others, and Cat knew this so she told her if she wanted she could go sit outside, which is what she did. She put on the jacket Cat gave her earlier today and sat on the bench on the porch. She watched the rain fall in the neighborhood, still refusing to cry even by herself. She watched he rain fall and make ripples it created throughout the day it was raining.
Dawn always thought of the rain a way the world was crying over how cruel this world is. If the world was raining something bad had happened to someone or something apart of her, a tree cut down, forest fire, something. She is in pain.
Dawn closed her eyes and laid her head against the house as she kept quiet, listening to the sounds of inside of chatter of adults and children, the rain making contact with the world, she tried to relax by all the sounds surrounding her.Dawn almost fell asleep from exhaustion by the sound of rain when she heard some feet make contact with the porch, creaking at the weight of someone. She opened her eyes to see no other than Allurah, her short brown hair shaved on the sides and there's longer hair on the top, it laying on the right side of her head looking like she shaved one side of her head. The longer parts of her hair had this tint of bluish and purplish tint to it, honestly a great mixture between her dark brown hair and dyed hair. She had this cute button nose, a great combination between her parents, her Mom's big round nose and her father's slender nose. The girl had her hands dung in her pocket's on her jacket as she stared at the more broken girl.
"Hey." Said the voice of the girl as she made a few steps forward. "You're Dawn, right?"
Dawn simply nodded.
Allurah could tell, Dawn did not want to talk, but her mother sent her out here so she might as well try to talk with her. "I'm Allurah."
"Allora?"
"All-UR-a." The girl corrected, but seemed like she was used to people pronouncing her name wrong. "I'm named after that baby in Willow." Dawn nodded. "Never seen the movie." Dawn said and Allurah shrugged.
"Doesn't matter. My mother made me come out here to see how you are. So, how are you?" She said, sounding awkward at the end. Dawn shook her head before sitting up more straightly. "I'm okay."
Dawn wasn't going to open up to the girl, after this summer she had become the closed off girl she was before. She looked back forward to see the rain continued to fall. She could feel Allurah looking between her and the rain falling onto earth, Dawn starting to go into her thoughts again. "Y'know." Dawn said, catching the girls attention. "I always knew people thought of the "Perfect Family" but mine is so fucked up, I thought "Perfect Families" were legend. Just fiction so people would feel shame if they did something wrong, their child yelling "I hate you", or simply having a divorce and making the child choose who they live with. Watching your family interact with each other seems like the dream family everyone craves for, loving people caring for each other, having each other backs when so called "normal" will kick them over the curve." Dawn looked at Allurah, who seemed shocked by what she was saying. "You're lucky."
"No I'm not." Allurah rejects. "I'm not lucky, not even my family. My parents got divorced when I was a child, they just got back together a few years ago. I switched between families all the time. The only reason their together is for their children."
"Than everyone is fucked up in their own way." Dawn leans forwards setting her elbow on her knee and resting her cheek in her palm listening to the natural sounds of nature around her. She felt Allurah come and sit next to her with her arms crossed and looked at the broken girl. "I guess so. The "Perfect Family" is still fiction than."
"I guess."
There was a silence between both girls again, not knowing what to say now, Dawn guessed it was becoming hard for her to have friends now. Not like she wants any, she is fine it just being Cathy and Cat and her boyfriend. Her thoughts traveled down to it being about Harry, who the hell knows how he'll react when he finds out what her mother has done to her. Dawn closed her eyes again hearing his voice scolding her for not leaving when she could to him, Hermione, even Cat. "You are lucky." Dawn said, trying to get out of her thoughts about Harry, all of them just turning bad because of her anxiety of telling him. He might know the ways of their abuse, but she still felt the need to not tell him anything.
"How so?"
"You have a family who love you dearly, they'd go over the moon for you. All the families wouldn't even do that because their poor, just for their education and not for their child, or doesn't even have a family at all." Dawn said and Allurah shrugged.
"Guess so."
