Mia's POV:
"Hi sir. I'm Travis." He says holding out his hand for my father to shake. He looks so nervous, I can tell this means a lot to him.
This almost seems like a normal situation. But then I realize that my boyfriend pretty much knows my dad already. And that he hates his guts. Well, it's my dads fault. The only one that can make me feel better is Travis and I have to tell him about it in order for him to understand.
My father looks Travis up and down, mentally judging him. "I'm Mia's father, of course. Call me Scott." He flashes his winning smile, although I've lived with him long enough to know it's fake. "Dinner is almost ready. You and Mia can go up to her room." He suddenly gets serious. "No funny business."
"I'm not like that Mr. Sol- Scott." Travis says. He grins, flashing his pearly whites. It almost looks like Travis likes my dad but being so close to him I can just barely tell it's fake.
My dad looks between Travis and I. I grab Travis's arm and pull him upstairs. I'm tired of talking to my father, Trav probably is too.
He and I talk about the most random things, like always. We start on the topic of school but my mind wanders to the ocean. Soon enough I'm asking why fish can't breath dry air and why humans don't have gills. He simply laughs at me and tells me to look it up. I know he was joking but what can I say. I'm curious.
Google gave us obvious answers like: "evolution blah blah blah." Well duh. I wanted to know why evolution made fish have gills instead of lungs and why frogs are so lucky to have both. The whole time I look up these, Travis stares at me. Why? I have no idea. I look at him and he seems to realize what he was doing and says "Sorry... You're just so involved in that and it's cute." He must have noticed my confused face because he continues explaining himself. "You get so caught up in the smallest things and you're so curious. I find that really attractive. I don't know." Aw. That's slightly adorable. What am I kidding. It's more than slightly.
We just stare at each other for a couple minutes until he starts leaning in. "I'm so lucky to have you." Then his lips touch mine. It still amazes me that no matter how many times we kiss I still feel the fireworks. That's what I love about Travis. I can tell he loves me by his actions and I can always feel the love in our kiss.
"MIA. TRAVIS. FOODS DONE." Way to ruin the moment mum.
"COMING." I shout to my mum. I may or may not have just yelled in Travis's ear. Whoops. "Race you?"
"Mia. This is my first time meeting your parents. I wanna make a good impression." He winks at me before dashing downstairs. That little.
I ran downstairs to see him casually slowing down after seeing my Jace. He looks so awkward. Aw. Jace just looks at him wierd before chuckling and walking away shaking his head.
"He seems to like me." Travis says smirking. I roll my eyes and of course he sees. "Woman. Don't judge me."
"Too late cutie." I whisper.
We walk into the kitchen and my parents made steak corn on the cob. I made a mess and Travis laughed at me the whole dinner, trying to hide his laughs with coughs. We finish and my mum seems to like him but I'm not sure about my dad. I rush upstairs and Trav follows me after thanking my parents for the meal.
We continue talking about gills and lungs until Travis, using his cocky side, winked at me and suggests we start where we left off. And by that he means kissing. I'm not complaining. Kissing him is my favorite past time, but my parents are downstairs and they could walk in.
It's only 7:30 now so we decide to go on a walk on the beach. I walk out of my house without telling my parents. They're probably used to it by now. Ill text my mum later anyway. Travis and I walk about half a mile down the beach and then we sit down at our private meet out. It's on the edge of the water approximately 10 feet up. It has tons of palm trees surrounding it and it may just be the most beautiful place I've seen. Travis discovered it a while ago and brought me here on the date where he confessed his love for me. We only come here for special occasions, so I'm curious to see why he brought me here.
"Mia?" Travis said. "I have something to tell you." He fidgets with his hands. One of his nervous habits. This could either be really good or really bad.
Travis's POV:
Mia and I leave her house to go to the beach. I've been looking for a time to show Mia how much I love her but I couldn't think of anything. When Mia brought up the beach, I knew it would be the perfect time. We get to the beach and I lead Mia to our secret hide out. She sits down and I take it as a cue to do the same.
She looks absolutely gorgeous tonight. Her golden hair is loosely curled in a high pony tail with a bright blue ribbon around the tie. The ribbon matches her sparkly eyes. Her makeup is natural but she's wearing more than usual. It looks great. She looks great in everything. She's especially stunning makeup-less with her messy bun, leggings and my oversized sweatshirt. I don't know what it is with her wearing my clothes. They fit me perfectly but on her they look like they're size extra large. I don't know. It's cute.
I'm getting off topic, sorry nervous habit. Anyway, I brought her here to show her I loved her I should probably start doing just that.
"Mia? I have something to tell you" I can tell my nerves are showing because she looks nervous too. She smiles shyly before telling me with her eyes to go on. "Uh... We've been dating a while now and I can see my future being spent with you. I want to give you this." I pull out a red velvet box with two matching rings in it. "They're promise rings. They show my love for you. I will always love you. I fall in love with you every time I see you and all I want is to wake up to your face every morning. I hope god doesn't mind that I'm stealing one of his angels, but this certain angel stole something from me: my heart. I love you Mia and I want to stay together forever."
