Mia's POV:

I wake up to the best sight a girl could ask for. I guess sometime in the night Travis took his shirt off. Now I'm staring at his mouthwatering six pack.

"Uhm... Mia? I would say staring is rude but if it's at me then I guess it's fine." He says winking at me. Crap. He caught me.

"Oh please Travis. You were staring at me the whole movie last night. It's my turn. Anyways I'm allowed to stare at my boyfriends perfect abdomen." I say while smirking at him. His face turns red as a tomato and I burst out laughing.

"Babe I was only joking!" I laugh. "We have to get ready for school."

"No. Mia it's cold outside. Come snuggle with me." Travis whines. As much as I would enjoy that, I can't. It takes about an hour for me to get ready for school.

I ignore him and get out of bed. I straightened my hair last night, so I can take more time on my makeup. I apply a thin base coat of mascara on, and coat it with my thickening layer. I dig through my makeup bag, looking for my eyeliner. Once I find it I coat my lower waterline with it. My makeups as perfect as I can get it, so I go to Travis's moms closet and pick out a pair of black leggings and a galaxy crewneck. His mom is the same size as me and surprisingly actually has fashion sense so I use her clothes when I'm over here. I pick out my favorite pair of her lace black combat boots and then go jump on Travis. He pushed me off him so I fake an offended face and walk away laughing.

"You realize we have to leave in 30 minutes?" I inform Travis.

"Yeah so? It takes me less than 5." He counters.

"I thought you spent an hour getting ready. It must take a while to make your morning face beautiful" I tease him. He rolls his eyes and flips me off. You can practically taste the love in the air.

I sit downstairs watching tv until it's time to go. Luckily Travis came down a couple minutes ago so I didn't have to wake him up. He motions for me to come outside and get in his car. He drives me to school every morning because I don't exactly have my license... I'm kinda lazy and getting my license seems like too much work. Anyway why get it if your boyfriend drives you everyday.

"So... Are you gonna go back home after school or do you wanna stay at my house again?" Travis asks, breaking the silence. I stay quiet for a couple minutes just staring ahead and thinking.

"Um I think it might be best to go back. If my dad comes home from work and I'm not there he's gonna try to hurt my mum. If I can stop that from happening I'm going to." I declare confidently, even though I don't feel confident in my answer.

"Just be careful ok? I don't know what I would do if you got hurt." He tells me. Awwweee!

"I will don't worry." I look out the window and realize we're at school. I have English this morning with Travis luckily, he usually keeps the bullies away.

We walk into school hand in hand. Ava's waiting at the locker to torment me. Ava and her two "friends" find it fun to make fun of me every single day. They don't realize what I go through at home and if they did they'd probably still do it. Just like my dad, they make them feel better about themselves by making me feel horrible.

"Hey Travis! Hey bitch!" Ava yells. "Travis honey! Why are you hanging out with her? She's nothing but trash." Travis is the popular guy at our school. No one seems to understand why he likes me, of all girls.

"Go away Ava. I'm trying to hang out with my GIRLFRIEND." Ava's face fell, I almost feel bad for her... Oh wait! No I don't lol.

"Whatever you want Travis!" She says with a plastic smile that perfectly matches her orange face. "Remember Mia. I'm willing to fight for Travis. I want him. And I ALWAYS get what I want." She whispers in my ear before walking away. I guess the worried expression is clear on my face because Travis asks what she said. "It was nothing to worry about. She just asked what the homework was in algebra." I lie.

"Then why do you look so worried?" He asks.

"I just realized I forgot to do the homework." I say. I need to stop lying to him. He's gonna be mad when he finds out what she actually said.

The rest of the day turned out fine and by the end I almost ran outside. But I figured I should get Travis's permission before I go highjack his car. I went to find him and apparently Ava found him first. What's with her and hitting on taken guys. Can't really blame her. You only want what you can't have. That and she's thirsty.

"So, do you wanna go to a movie this weekend?" I walk up on Ava asking my boyfriend.

"Ugh Ava stop being so damn thirsty. Oh and pull up your shirt. Your boobs are about to fall out." I say. Travis snickers and pulls me to the car before she has a chance to say anything back to me.

"Good one back there Mia. Oh and thanks for saving me from that, as you put it, thirsty fake." He says happily.

He turns on the radio and For The Love Of A Daughter came on. Demi Lovato is one of my favorite artists. She's such an inspiration. I start tearing up at the lyrics. It perfectly describes situation with my dad. Travis looks over and turns the radio off.

"Mia? What's the matter?" He asks, concerned. I point to the radio. He looks extremely confused until he turns it on and hears the song that's playing. Right when he recognizes it he pulls over and slides over the seats in his pickup to sit next to me. I bury my head in his shoulder.

"Do you think it'll ever stop?" I manage to choke out while sobbing. "Do you think my dad will realize how horrible it makes me feel and reach deep down into his hollow heart and stop the tormenting?"

"I don't know Mia. I'm sorry. I wish I could tell you it'll be okay but I can't. I don't know if it will or not. All we can do is hope." Travis says softly, trying to comfort me.

"Thanks for being there for me. I know I'm a pain to deal with. I love you Travis." I say quietly.

"I love you too." Once he realizes I'll be fine in the ten minutes it takes to drive to my house he starts the car and pulls back onto the road. I turn the radio back on and start singing along to the song that comes on. (Chasing Cars by: Snow Patrol)

We'll do it all, Everything. On our own.

We don't need, Anything. Or anyone.

If Iay here, If I just lay here. Will you lie with me and just forget the world?

Travis looks at me and smiles before turning the radio off. "Hey! I was listening to that." I exclaim.

"Sing it without the radio on. You sound better than it anyways." He smiles. "Oh and by the way, yes I would lie with you and forget the world." Im not good enough for him, I think to myself. He sees me smiling and mocks my face. He looks like one of the fake girls that hit on him all the time, his smiles so big.

"Are you sure you wanna go home? We're almost at your house and I need to know you're confident with your answer." Travis asks after a couple minutes of silence.

"Yes. I need to protect my mom." I confirm.

"Ok. Call me later. I need to know you're safe." He says. I stay quiet but nod at him.

We get to my big house a few minutes later. I kiss Travis on the cheek and get my house key out from my purse. I unlock the door and walk inside. My dad is sitting on the living room couch. He's sober, pissed, but luckily sober.

"WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU YESTERDAY!" He yells once he notices I'm home.
