****************Eric pov***********

I lean back on the wall as I watch movers remove all my shit out from my room. This is really unnecessary. I'm going to New York and Columbia University, Apparently. I sigh as I knew that I would be leaving my life behind. I look at the plain walls around my room. It was once e filled with football posters and athletes' jerseys.

I walk over to my nightstand and grab the frame picture of Chels and I from New York on New year's Eve. I smile toward the background as I saw a piece of the fireworks lights. Her eye was shining brightly as she grin toward the camera. I stuck my hand in my front pocket for the Purple Heart diamond necklace. I felt the diamond as I took it out.

"Knock, Knock." Mom said from behind me.

I roll my eyes as I place the necklace back in my pocket. "What's that?" She asks me as I turn around.

I ignore her as I walk toward my suitcases. I look down my watch to see it's a quarter past 7. My flight doesn't leave till 9, but it'll take 20 minutes to get to the airport, plus security will take a while. I look around the room to double-check. I didn't forget anything.

"Eric, please say something." She pleaded as she make a move to grab my arm.

I pull away. "Tell me the truth." I place the suitcases down as I narrow my eyes at her.

I clench my fists tightly. Couldn't believe that this lady, the one I call mom could ever do something like this. I bet she knew the risks that her plan caused. Did she care at all? I jump back as she place her hand on my shoulder. I stare into her eyes as they become moist. Her tears wouldn't affect me like before.

"I made a mistake." She sobs. I took deep breath to calm myself down.

"A mistake no, you ruin this family!" I spat. I pick up my suitcase and exit the room.

I quickly walk downstairs to see Dad staring at the coffee mug in his hands. He look up toward me sadly. "I'm sorry you-

I shook my head. "I don't want any apologies; I just want to get the hell out."

He nods. "We'll get breakfast on the way." I pick up my suitcase and head toward the door.

I roll my eyes as I hear heels running down the stairs. "Eric, wait!"

I felt my heart break. This was something I couldn't forgive her for. "No, I'm done." I place my hand on the handle and open the door to leave. Before she could say anything else, I slam the door and step outside. I took a deep breath as I made my way toward my dad maserati. I curse as I realized that dad still have the keys.

I look toward the door as it close. I frown as I saw his cheeks red. It looks like a mark. I watch as his jaw lock as he rubs his face. I heard a beep from the car as he threw the keys at me. "Let's get out of here son." I nod as I grab my keys to put it in the trunk.

I cut into my pancakes as I force my breakfast down. I felt myself losing my appetite. "Eric?" dad said softly.

I look toward him. He rubs his eyes. I can tell that he was tired, because his eyes are bloodshot red and puffy. "How did you-

I bit my lip. "Chantal" I chuckle as I shook my head.

His eyes widen. "Really?" He rubs his chin.

I shook my head in denial. "Believe me it was a shocker"

I look down at my watch. "She calls me out of the blue from an unknown number."
