Kairo's POV

I woke up the next morning and I felt horrible. My head ached badly and my nose was completely stopped up. If you can't already tell, I cried myself to sleep.

I went into my bathroom and looked into the mirror. I looked no better than I felt. Dried tear marks streaked my face, my eyes were red and puffy, and my once curly mane was now a big, dry, fluffy mess.

The situation with Chris was really taking a toll on me. I loved him with all my heart and I fucked everything up because of my stubborness. I'm such a screw-up...

I shook my head to get rid of the negative thoughts and adjusted the knobs of the sink until the water was warm. I grabbed a wash cloth and began to wash my face. After that I proceeded to brush my teeth, then I hopped in the shower.

When I got out, I slipped on something simple; sweats and a t-shirt. I went downstairs to see if my mom was here.

I looked out of the window and saw that her car was gone; meaning she already left for work.

I sighed in relief then plopped down on the couch in the living room. I really wasn't feeling school today, so I decided to just stay home.

****

A sudden loud knock on the door caused me to open my eyes. I don't even remember falling asleep.

I yawned and stretched, narrowing my eyes to clear my blurry vision.

Another loud knock on the door interrupted my stretching. I groaned as I stood up from the couch and went to the door.

"Who the hell knocking on the door like they the police??" I muttered to myself.

As soon as I opened the door, I instantly regretted it.

Dre stood there, staring back at me, his hands in his pockets and a blank stare on his face.

"U-umm... why a-are you here?" I stuttered.

A light smirk appeared on his face. "I just came to talk. Can I come in?" he said in an innocent voice, but I was smart enough to see through his facade.

I tried to think of an excuse. "U-uhh... sorry but um... I can't have people over when my mom isn't home..." I mentally face palmed myself for that stupid ass excuse.

He chuckled, "Yeah right." he said as he pushed his way past me.

He walked to the couch and sat down. I followed suit but sat a good distance away.

"O-okay... what did you wanna talk about?" I spoke nervously after a few seconds of an awkward silence.

His expression grew somewhat dark as he clenched his jaw and prepared to speak. "The incident at the party." he said in a low voice.

I instantly stiffened, even more scared than before, "W-what incident?" I tried to play clueless.

"You know what the fuck I'm talkin' about," he spat, "you really thought I was gon' let you get away wit dat shit!?" he narrowed his eyes at me.

"Look, I-I'm sorry! I didn't intend on any of that stuff t-to happen! I-I-I swear! I was just trying to get back at Chris and-and everything ju-just backfired! I didn't do it on purpose!" I quickly and frantically explained.

He lightly chuckled, "You know what? It's coo' ma..." he said.

My eyes widened in shock, "R-really?"

"Yeah, you good. But uhh...," he briefly stopped and looked around a bit, "you did say yo moms was gone, right?" he asked, a weird look on his face.
