Kitchen Sink Fic

The first day

"Please, don't make me go mom!" Tyler whimpered as he hid under the covers.

"Sweetie you just have to. You can't miss your first day," his mother pulled at the covers.

"But I'm not going to know anyone! I can't!" Tyler attempted to grab the covers that his mother was yanking at.

It was Tyler's first day at a new school, and he was terrified. He was bullied at his previous school but now, he was going to high school and he was only a freshman.

"Honey. Please get up. You'll be fine!"

"Mom I don't want to..."

"TYLER!" his mom was fed up and snatched the covers off of him.

"I'm sorry mother. I'll get up now." Tyler whimpered. He got out of bed and got ready. He couldn't stop thinking about every possible thing that could happen. He was so stressed and worried.

(1 hour later)

"Alright Ty! We're here! Have a great first day of high school," his mom kissed his forehead, only to have him wipe it off.

He attempted not to cry. He wasn't even exactly sure why he was so scared and anxious. It wasn't even going to be that bad, he forced himself out of the car door, he decided it was time to stop being a baby.

He opened the door and looked down at his schedule and saw his first class was English. He walked quickly to his first class, because he knew he was already going to be late.

"Oh. You must be Tyler. Can we know why you're late on the first day?" the teacher snarled.

"Oh it's just that...I...I slept in late, sorry. I won't let it happen again." He could feel the eyes staring him down. He had a huge lump in his throat.

He took his seat and tried to hide his face. He felt all of the energy from his peers staring towards him. He looked at his hands and started aggressively scratching his neck until it stung and his eyes began to water...
