Tyler felt guilt. Guilt that he felt in his whole body, guilt that he couldn't get rid of. He loved Josh. He was sorry.

"Mom, I'm going to go to Josh's house!" Tyler yelled across the house. He had to say sorry to his love.

He knocked on Josh's door and there was no answer. Tyler knew exactly what was happening. His head started spinning.

"Josh?! Open up!!"

He began to panic and bang on the old, broken door until the door opened.

He ran upstairs to his room just to see was Josh did to himself. He was laying on the ground covered in his own blood with a blade right beside him. He wasn't breathing. He was gone. Tyler began to lose himself.

Tyler wanted to scream but his voice was trapped inside of him. He kicked the wall.

He picked up the note on the table next to him.

It said
Tyler, I'm sorry for what I did. You had every right to be mad at me. You're all I cared about... and I lost you. I'm tired. I've lost everything. I've lost purpose. This is my goodbye. I only wanted to save you because I didn't want you to become like me. I love you Tyler. Even if you don't love me. I understand your pain. Live your life to the fullest, my love.

~ Josh

Tyler cried. His thoughts were screaming at him. He cried until he was out of tears. He held Josh's hand. Josh's cold hand. He felt so much love and so much pain at the same time. He couldn't cry. He could only sit in complete silence. The silence was too loud.

He grabbed the blade and did it one final time. He cut himself, deeper than he ever has before. He bled out. It became hard to focus. He could hardly breath. Everything got dark. Everything got peaceful. The moment before the light went out behind his eyes, he realized something. All of his problems were temporary.

Except for this one.

His knees got weak and he fell next to his former friend.

He was gone.
He was free.
