Chapter 7|
I have never been so tired and bothered in my whole entire life.
I grunted extremely loud as I reached my hand out for the phone. I clicked the button and put it in my ear.
"This is Reyna speaking."
Suddenly a voice that sounded very broken entered my ears which had my squinted eyes widened.
"Reyna? I–It's me. I need your help," Ainsley stuttered through the phone.
I blinked multiple times. "What's wrong? Are you okay?" I was now becoming worried. Had something happened to her? Was it a nightmare.
"I'll explain everything if you come over right now!"
Sighing, I ripped the covers off of myself. "Give me 10 and I'll be there."As I got off my bed, I headed toward my drawer to grab sweatpants and a regular band T-shirt that was my sisters but I kinda stole it. I put on my white rabbit slippers and headed towards my Moms car.
I didn't have a car yet and as I kept begging my wonderful Mothers for a car, they have always said no. Want to know why?
Because apparently, I'm NOT ready.
I have my drivers license and I've done a whole lot to get it, I've practiced driving with both my mothers a lot more than Angel ever did with them yet she got a car when she was in junior year and now she's somewhere in Australia with her girlfriend.
Now that I'm currently a junior, I should be ready for my own car but no, my parents keep refusing to help their poor little girl out.
When I parked in front of Ainsley's house, I quickly rushed towards the button and just as I was about to click it, I already saw a figure sitting down on the edge of the fountain with their feet in the water.
Ainsley.
"Hey!" I called out for her. Her eyes snapped towards my voice and hastily, she got up and went to the gate.
"What's wrong?" I asked her when she was close enough. She didn't answer me and instead started clicking buttons on the other side. The gates opened and I went in.
"Ainsley?" I asked and put a hand on her shoulder but immediately, she flinched and took a step back.
"Come in, I need to show you something," She stated quietly as she made her way towards the front doors. I followed after.
The house was dark and no butlers or maids were around like they were during the day. The silence was very scary. I couldn't imagine living in this big mansion with silence.
God that was creepy.
We walked past her room which was odd because that's where we would always go. She took me to a bookshelf.
"Uh what are we doing near a bookshelf?" I asked her but she didn't answer me.
Instead, she pushed the bookshelf and it literally turned into an entrance to another room. I gaped at what I had just witnessed but she wasted no time.
We went inside and I examined everything. Books and papers were scattered everywhere and there were like hundreds of bookshelves.
"I found this room two weeks ago," Her shaky voice echoed through the room. "This has to be where my dad is all the time because he's always near the bookshelf that leads to this place."
"Why would he be in here?"
She then turned around to look at me, her eyes are brimmed with tears. "Every book in here is a diary,"
