Chapter Eight|
Our bodies were pressed against each other and even though we were in a tight space and I should feel really uncomfortable, I didn't.
I felt warm.
But I was still so very confused and upset with what she had told me. She turned to me with a small smile but I responded with a frown.
"Shh, he's coming," She said to me. I sighed and waited for him to pass by.
"Hello?" A deep like voice rang the both of our ears. Ainsley's hand was on my thigh while her other was on her mouth. I couldn't help but find that cute.
Ugh don't think like that, Reyna! You're totally upset with her!
Suddenly, footsteps were being heard and got louder every second. I felt her grip on my thigh tighten. God, why the hell did that feel good to me?! I ripped my attention away from my thigh and glanced at Ainsley's father who was looking at the scattered books.
But it seemed as if one particular one caught his eyes.
"He's looking at book 910," Ainsley whispered. Indeed he was. He looked at the book and it almost seemed as if he hated it.
The scowl on his face was really the answer to it all. He was hurt and angry even after years. Ainsley watched her father with sad eyes. I think she really wanted to see her dad happy for once.
He sighed, closed the lights and left the room. Once we were sure he was gone, I turned to Ainsley who was just about to get up but I immediately grabbed her arm and yanked her down back to my height.
"What are you doing?" She raised a brow.
"England?" I questioned her. She looked away and I could tell she was nervous. "You can't go!"
"I have to, Reyna."
I watched her as if she was crazy. "No! No, you really don't have to do this. This...this is insane!"
"This is the only way I could find out about my Mom!" She argued.
I was beginning to feel frustrated. If she wanted to find her mother, she could simply just confront her dad and asked him for her phone number or something. Anything but what she had in mind.
"Ainsley..." Her eyes met mine and for some reason we were close. Unbelievably close to the point where our noses were almost touching and I could feel her hot breath on my cheeks.
"I'm doing this, Rey," She whispered as her eyes trailed down to my lips. My eyes did the same thing and then I couldn't find myself to stop looking at them.
Dammit, what am I doing?!
Shaking my head, I stood up. "Fine, do what you want." I spat at her before stomping out of the room.
I sped walk out to the hallway and down the stairs. When I was finally out the front door, I stopped myself and took a deep breath.
I turned around, hoping she would come outside and tell me that she wouldn't go.
She didn't.
I mentally grunted, thinking about how stupid I was for even hoping she would come out.
Driving off, I realized that it was 6:00 am. Shit, now I had to pray that the Moms weren't awake.
