Chapter 2|

Once I open the doors, all eyes were on me.

"You're late!" Ms. Young announced.
Yeah, well no shit, idiot!

"Sorry, I overslept. But hey, I'm here now, right? Heh." The whole class was quiet as Ms. Young only quirked her eyebrow. That was embarrassing.

Nice going, Reyna.

"Take a seat, please." I looked around and since Trent was no where to be seen, there were two available seats. One next to May and one next to...

Ainsley.

Shit. I looked at two of the empty seats, debating on which seat I should take.

"We don't have all day, Ms. Cassanova. Sit down." I grunted at the teacher but she didn't hear. Ainsley and I weren't allowed to communicate on school grounds anyways.

I took a seat next to May, she didn't smile. Instead, she only stared at me. My eyes locked with hers in confusion.

"Why are you staring at me?" I asked her as I ran a hand through my messy blonde hair.

"Were you actually picking between me and the perfette? She's not your friend, Reyna. You can sit here anytime you'd like if Trent isn't here." She geniuely smiled at me but I only frowned.

I hated lying.

Lying was something I was good at but I hated doing it. I wanted to tell them but May would never forgive me. We've been friends for a long time and I don't think I could live without bubbly May.

"Ms. Cassanova? It's the second week of school and you're already on my last nerve. I need you to pay attention. You have a quiz on friday and I don't want to see anything lower than a C." Ms. Young gave me one last stern look before taking her attention back to the board as she lectured her class.

I stopped listening to her Lecture when my eyes landed on Ainsley. Her head was down and I could hear light snores. I was just about to go back to paying attention when she started to shake. Her movements scared me. Her legs started shaking fast. So were her arms. She started to mumble which caught May's attention.

I couldn't hear the mumbles but I feel like she was having some sort of nightmare.

"What is she doing in this class anyways? She's an idiot she couldn't have passed." I ignored her ridiculous comment and sat there with worry.

Okay, Reyna. It's just a dream. Stop worrying about her.

I put my attention back to Ms. Young who was talking about some equation that was under the projector.

Suddenly a loud frightening gasp was heard which interrupted Ms. Young's lesson. I looked towards at Ainsley, who's head was up, sweat falling onto her face. She was breathing heavily, but more like panting.

"Ms. Roberts? Is everything alright?" Ms. Young asked, obviously annoyed from the interruption.

"C-can I be dismissed. I don't feel so good." Ainsley's head was low as she fiddled with her fingers.

Ms. Young sighed. "Go ahead."

As she was packing up, I quickly got up to go with her but she only put her hand out.

"Don't." She mumbled. Before I could reply, she was already out the door.

"Reyna, I won't tell you again! Sit down!" I groaned at the lady before sitting down and getting back to the stupid lecture.

The whole day was uneventful. No sign of Ainsley at all, which was sad. Once first period ended, I went all over the place to look for Ainsley but there was no sign of her. Even her little friends were looking for her. I suddenly felt fear creep into my body. I was terrified.
