Dance

One, two and three...
One, two and three.
The world seems so much simpler
When you dance with me.

What is it, you say?
You're still in doubt?
Well my dear, take your time
But please, hear me out.

Wait, don't lose focus.
One, two and three.
Left, right, twirl and twist.
You're still dancing with me.

You wonder if I would lie
Wonder if I would cheat
Like others have done with you
You fear treachery and deceit

Have I not told you, my dear,
I would not lie to you?
I did say I wanted to change?
That my words would be true?

I hold to what I said, my dear.
One... two and three.
I do not ever want to lie to you
As long as you are dancing with me.

Yes, my past is a bad pattern
But it does not define me now.
I really want to prove it to you,
if you would let me show you how.

Lets start with the basic steps.
There's one, two and three.
I assure you, you needn't worry
So long as you dance with me.

Ask yourself the question:
Why would I want to deceive you?
Why would I want to lie, cheat, scheme
And risk us being through?

The answer is: I don't.
I would be an imbecile to do so.
You are an amazing being.
I fell for you, your pink hair and your bow.

By now you know: all I want is you.
And you is someone I don't want to lose.
It is you I want to be with.
It is you that I choose.

But perhaps I should start
with one and not with three.
And instead of over-thinking it.
Ask if you would like to dance with me.

Perhaps I am not deserving of your hand.
Perhaps you deserve someone more.
But all I can do is ask you, my dear,
Hoping to lead you onto the dance floor.

Would you please give it a chance
of you being with me?
I would really want to know...
Would you dance with me?
