Skylar's POV

I head out of the Clifford's house since they were getting ready to go on a vacation for the weekend. I would be alone for the next four days, but at least I still have Calum here. As I walk across the lawn, I notice Luke sitting on his porch singing along to the guitar. I try not to look fully over at Luke, not wanting any of his attentions. That dream from this morning, it didn't scare me but it made me like him even more. It's just the way his blues eyes make me fall for him.

"Hey!" I hear a shout from the other side of the road as the guitar stops strumming.

I stop in tracks and look over to see Luke running towards me. I look back at my house, wondering if I should obey my moms rule or not. I shrug, knowing we wouldn't be doing "anything," and meet him at the end of my driveway.

"Hey." He says again. I smile, not saying anything. "So uh, you have any plans today?"

Do lie or do I not? I mean, my only plans were to go to annoy Calum but that can wait till tomorrow. "Uh, I guess I'm free." I shrug, tugging on one of Michael's hoodies.

"Your boyfriend won't mind that we're hanging out? Alone." Luke wonders. And here it goes again, the question about Michael and I dating never stops.

"He's not my boyfriend. We're practically siblings." I tell him.

He just nods. "Ok then. Well, I'll come over at around noon? Sounds good?"

"I'll just meet you out here." I say, if mom finds out she would probably be a little pissed that I didn't listen to her.

Luke nods, and I walk away. My phone vibrates in my hand as I walk up the stairs to my bedroom. Mom's doing laundry in the wash room. "Hi honey! You spent the night at calum's?"

"No, Michaels house." I tell her.

"You two would be so cute together. I really like Michael, you know that?" And I especially don't need this from my mom.

"Mom..." I huff.

"I know. You guys are just best friends." She folds the last of her towel as she follows me into my bedroom. "Do you have any plans today? I heard Michael's going out of town for a few days."

"Yeah, I'm going to go over to a friends house." I tell her, can't let her know Luke and I are going out.

"With who?"

"Oh um, Jill with her other two friends, I think it was Meghan and Terry." I tell her.

"How is Jill? I haven't seen her since you were in middle school!"

"I don't know, I haven't seen her since high school. She wanted to meet up for a little with her friends." She bought it.

------

After I get out of my shower and change into superman t-shirt and shorts, I head outside to meet Luke. He honks his car, and i get into the passenger seat. I buckle up for dear life, knowing how reckless of a driver Luke is. Surprisingly, he drives not to fast down the road.

"I know from the past few days, I looked like a total jerk. But I promise i'm not a jerk. I'm just kinda pissed off at my parents." Luke says out of the dead silence.

"I know, it sucks moving. I moved three times before we settled down for good here." I tell him.

"Its not just the fact of moving." Luke says. "I had to leave everything behind. I can't even see my friends. I did some bad things where I lived, peered pressured by others that kinda changed who I am."

"You didn't have to be doing what they told you, you could of said no. Besides, I don't know much about you, but your in a new place. You can move on and make new friends here." I tell him.

"Yeah, but by the look of your mom's face is like she doesn't want me near you."

"I'm with you, aren't I?" I ask him.

"Just promise me one thing?" Luke asks me, I look over to him. "Promise me, if we ever do become friends, whatever happens just blame me."

"What do you mean?" My dream comes back in flashes, but I shake it off.

"Just anything. If your mad at me, were fighting, mistakes, blame me. I'm not fully hundred percent me. But i'm trying to."

I just nod my head to him, unable to say anything. I'm to confused to know what he is talking about.
