O-O-O-O-O-
Emily's POV
O-O-O-O-O-

I awoke in a strange room and my vision was blurred. There were figures hovering over me but I couldn't make out their faces. There was a slight poke in the crease of my arm and I involuntarily began to grow drowsy until everything was black again.

-----

There was some kind of annoying beep that circled around my head. It wasn't my alarm clock because it was too high and the beeps were too far apart. I forced my brain to open my eyelids even though I knew I would regret it, and I was right when I got a headache just from the dim light shining on my body.

I soon came to figure out that I was in the hospital. There was no light coming through the window so the sun had obviously set. Across the room was a body sprawled out across an uncomfortable stiff couch. A doctor came in and saw I was awake. He checked the monitors and dimmed my heart monitor so it would be less annoying. "Ah, you're awake." His smile was bright and inviting. "How do you feel?"

I squirmed a little under my thin blankets, "I have a headache, and this part hurts." I said rubbing where my rib cage was located.

The young man smiled a bit. "That's normal with the two broken ribs you have. I'll see about getting some more pain killers for you headache, but believe it or not, you're close to your limit."

"It doesn't feel like it. Feels like someone's drilling ten nails into my head." I complained.

"I'll get the meds, but you need to rest. Go to sleep." He smiled reassuringly before he exited the room with his clip board. I did as he told me and closed my eyes. Before I knew it, things were dark once again.

-----

The beeping around my head still hadn't seceded when I woke up for the third time. If anything, it was ten times louder than it was before. I became aware of the weight on my legs. I squirmed to try and move them. They were just so heavy; my right one especially. Peeling my eyes open I saw a mop of curly hair on top of my thighs and I smiled reaching out to run my hand through the hair. He stirred then looked up before wiping the hair off his face that was sticking from sweat.

A smile full of teeth was directed towards me, "Emily." He breathed and grabbed my hand before kissing it gently, then rubbing circles over the top softly with his thumb. He pushed some hair back behind my face and let his hand linger longer near my cheek.

"I'm so glad you're OK. Do you remember what happened?" Harry whispered loud enough so I could hear. A small smile appeared on my face then dissappeared just as fast when I tried to fit together what happened.

Foot steps were headed toward me, then stopped all too quickly.  "Steele, c'mon man, you don't want to do this." It was Harry.

"You've left me know choice! You're going to ruin everything!" His voice grew hoarse by the yelling of his voice.

The figures in my blurry line of vision that I knew were Kayla and Ellie scurried up from the huddling position against the wall and ran back somewhere behind me where I could no longer make them out. Their actions were followed by silence and that was what was scariest of it all. I can't move because of the impact I took when Steele threw me down. A steady beat coming from higher above, through the ceiling sounded threw but was then interrupted by two gun shots and I squeezed my eyes shut praying to God it was know one that I was close to. That it wasn't Kayla or Ellie, and most of all, that it wasn't Harry or Darcy. Something wrapped around me to pick me up and that's when I let my body shut down because I thought my life was going to end right then and there anyways.
