Yami couldn't sleep. His hikari had gone to sleep, and he had taken over to wander the blimp before battle. It was the night before his duel with Marik, and with the pressure of the world upon him, he felt extremely stressed out. If he failed, he doomed the world to shadows.

He realized soon that he had gotten himself lost. The blimp was full of twists and turns, and it didn't help that the only light came from the occasional window. Kaiba had sent all his workers to their rooms as they had landed for the night, and there was no sense in having them run around all night causing noise.

"Great, time to go back and retrace I guess," he muttered to himself. He didn't like being lost as much as the next person, but the feeling was made worse with evil forces wandering. Walking quickly back the way he came, he realized he had made another bad turn. "Dammit..."

Groaning in frustration he turned back around. Surely he could find his way back, the blimp couldn't be THAT big. Pausing as he heard footsteps, he turned. There wasn't a soul. He walked quickly now, unnerved by the noises and shadows. "Must be my imagination..."

"I'm afraid not, Pharaoh."

He turned on his heel to face whoever spoke, but was slammed against the wall before being able to see the source of the voice. His arms were pinned between his body and the wall, and the puzzle jabbing painfully into his chest. He let out a small gasp of pain. Damn that puzzle.

"Heh heh... don't worry, this won't take long!" Shadows wrapped around him, moving to suffocate him. An eye glowed upon his forehead as he tried to counter with his own magic. The shadows faltered, hesitating a bit, before enveloping him. Something told him this wasn't going to be a good night.

He still tried to fight back, but whoever his captor was was stronger. Yami groaned in frustration at how he had gotten into this mess. If he had gone to sleep like Yugi, he wouldn't be here, and he wouldn't be slowly passing out. "Lovely..." His vision ebbed in and out before going completely black.

Later on, he woke up to find himself restrained to the wall of the corridor by shadows. He looked almost as if on a cross. "...w-what?" He looked around dazedly trying to grasp his surroundings. What had happened?

His memory came back to him, and realization hit him like a brick. He had been wandering when someone slammed him into a wall and used shadows in an attempt to strangle him. That means the person he's facing is someone to be feared if their shadow magic was stronger than his.

"Heh.. It's about time you woke up, I've been waiting a bit." Yami's eyes searched the shadows for the voice, but only saw a glowing eye similar to his standing out. A Millennium Item was at work here.

Finally, the person stepped forth from the shadows.
Marik.

Not the good one, but the evil one born of hatred and fear. But to be honest, both of them want him dead. He still believed there was good in his heart though, and that he could fight this evil version.

Either way, Yami was in trouble. His enemy had the upper hand. He was stronger, wasn't restrained to a wall, and could take the Puzzle at any moment. He could probably just kill him to get this entire mess finished with, but that would create a bigger mess.

"Marik! What do you want?" Yami demanded, attempting to keep his confident tone.

"I want revenge, Pharaoh! I never wanted to tend to your tomb, I'd much rather let the thieves have at it! But now that I have you where I want you, I can exact that revenge," he ranted deviously, and with a smirk for that matter. Marik was the embodiment of hate and evil.
