"Just there! I saw her." The voices were muffled coming closer and closer, my limbs ached from lunging my small legs through the heavy snow as fast as I could bare it.
The chains rubbing against the mens armor made my ears scrape like sharpening a sword. Each large stomp they made increased the noise of the horrendously pounding sound.
The light
My long dark hair clung to my sweaty chest and adrenaline kicked in as I began to sprint, no more steady pass, I had to sprint & try get to safe land. I stopped instantly in my tracks and let the snow cover almost my entire legs as I hear a dreadful familiar screech from the men that were chasing me. My head whips around to look behind me now in the middle of a field only being able to see a darkened figure that is the forest behind the falling blizzard.
I squinted and heard the sound of multiple thumps fading away into the distance.
They're going back. I'm free.
I carrying on dragging my body through the snow, a hand to the side of my face to stop the snow from hitting my face. As I got closer and closer to the light I noticed a large outline that surrounded the light, very large in fact. It resembled something that I have seen, a castle.
The bottom of my feet stung stepping onto the stone ground leading up to a large wooden door. I was just about to take another step when two figures emerged from the side, both had one hand on a handle that lead to a long object attached to their waist.
"Who'a you?" A large man drenched in a fury black animal asked. From what I could see he had a scar running down the left side of his face. If my body wasn't shaking so vigorously from this weather, I would had been dead still in fear.
"Aye, are ya def." He spoke again, this time inching closer. The other man putting his hand on his shoulder causing him to stop.
"She's freezing." He finally spoke pointing at my face. Probably at my lips that were beyond purple by now, "she's not a threat."
They both let go of their grips on the handle and stepped back.
"We can't know for sure." The man with the scar spoke firmly before grabbing my arm and tugging me forward only for me to fall forcefully down onto the hard cold ground.
"Come, grab her from the other side."
I felt another pair of strong hands lift me off the ground as if I was nothing, a straw of hay. One of the men knocked on the wood and within seconds the doors opened and they lead me inside. The strong wind and snow made it too difficult for me to keep my eyes open, so I closed my eyes and let the two men lead. It was not too long until we came to an abrupt stop and another round of knocking.
"Ay, what is it?" A deep voice spoke through a door opening.
"Is Snow there, I need to talk to him." The mans grip grew tighter around my arm.
"Ai, but not for long."
Wood against wood filled my ears then a door opened & we walked inside. I opened my eyes slowly being blinded by many candle lights. I let out a breath as the warmth of the candles washed over my body. My eyes wondered around the room scanning every corner. I've never seen anything like it. I was in a castle room. Then my eyes landed on a man with dark curly hair & dark eyes.
He must be snow.
