The room was blaring with beepings and alarms, nurses rushed their way into the room.
Rowan kept glancing through the small transparent fiber glass on the door, looking for her, at her.
Then, he'd glance at the heartbeat monitor and at the faces of all the nurses and doctors.It was hard to not notice that the patient in the ER is critical. He tried to ignore how agitating and how bad it's making him anxious. It was just not how he thought it would all turn out to be.
Once the doctor walked out, Rowan immediately bolted to his direction to inquire of Aylie's current status. "What happened? One moment she was fine and the next thing I know was that she was on the verge of dy-" He couldn't even finish the word, he hated the thought of it. Itade him miserable, lonely, depressed, jumpy. And he couldn't bear all of it together.
"Yes, it appears that her body is rejecting the blood that was donated to her. And not just that, the cancer cells are multiplying quickly."
He didn't know what came over him, rage, fury, anger, but he couldn't stop himself frim taking the collar of his shirt and blatantly let his words stream out of his mouth. "Why wasn't the blood transfusion not working? How the hell did that happen!? You're a doctor, it's your job to save lives." He let him go as tears streamed down on his face. "I'm sorry."
The doctor, who probably pitied him, said, "Sir, we are doing everything we can to save her. If she can be strong enough, then she'd be safe, but it depends whether she fights or let's go. It's her battle."
That being said, Rowan has never felt pain like this ever before. And he thought it couldn't get worse...
