Slave to the mind,
My collar on tight,
My leash short,
Society's eyes pierce my hide.
Expectations held over my head,
Dreams crushed,
Hopes fading into a distant wind,
When will I finally be free.
Spread my wings and look down on these small worries,
Feel the warm sun caress my skin,
Allow the weight of the world to dissolve,
To finally be able to rest in peace away from the voices locked inside.
