Chapter 8 - Evac war

MacTavish shouted “Roach! Lay down some fire on the intersection! Heads up! Alley 

on the left! Keep moving! We're almost at the market!” ghost saw roach take the alley 

on the left with 2 guys from the 141. MacTavish and ghost carried on straight and 

turned left, only to be met by more gunfire from more militia. MacTavish and ghost took 

cover behind a wooden fence while roach took cover behind a parked pickup truck. A 

141 member heard another technical inbound. Roach took out the gunner on the technical. 

The team moved up to the technical and saw the market but it was empty, or so they 

thought. MacTavish shouted “Squad! spread out and cut through the market, Move!” 

after walking not even 2 meters into the market the team was under fire for a 3rd 

time. Ghost thought “For fuck sakes how many times can we walk into these 

ambushes”. Halfway through the market ghost saw tangos and advised the others by 

shouting “Contacts above us at 11 o'clock, firing blind!” The team had split in half. 

Ghost and a few 141 members were on the right side of the market while MacTavish 

and roach were on the left side. MacTavish shouted “Tango coming out of the shack on 

the right!” The team regroup and as they do that Nicolai’s pave low fly’s over. 

MacTavish blurts out “: There's Nikolai's Pave Low! Let's go!” he then radios Nicolai 

“Nikolai! ETA 20 seconds! Be ready for immediate dust-off!” The team find a good 

landing zone for Nikolai and they try to secure it. Nikolai being above it all saw 

50+ foot mobiles and tells MacTavish “That may not be fast enough! I see more militia 

closing in on the market!” but Nikolai still tries to land the helicopter in the 

market. MacTavish told the team “Pick up the pace! Let's go!” just as MacTavish said 

that a hail of RPG fire showered Nicolai’s pave low. Luckily all the RPG rounds missed 

but Nicolai shouted on the radio to MacTavish “It's too hot! We will not 

survive this landing!” MacTavish waved his arms in the air saying “Nikolai wave off, 

wave off! We'll meet you at the secondary LZ instead! Go!” after a while of shooting 

MacTavish tells his team “Come on! We've got to get to the rooftops, this way!” 

ghost finds a way up onto the rooftops and tells the team to climb up and run. 

Everyone saw the pave low fly past which was the last thing the 141 should worry 

about because they still had to get to it. While running to the second LZ Nicolai 

radios MacTavish saying “My friend, from up here, it looks like the whole village is 

trying to kill you!” MacTavish thought “what the hell? Really?” but said back 

“Tell me something I don't know! Just get ready to pick us up!” after running on the 

rooftops few about 4 minutes ghost shouted “We're running out of rooftop!” MacTavish 

shouted back “we can make it! Go go go!” ghost sprints and jumps the huge gap, 

followed by MacTavish and the other 141 team but roach stood there for a while and 

then jumped but as he did ghost pointed to MacTavish. Roach made it but slipped off 

and fell, hitting the ground hard and blacking out. He wasn’t out for long 

because all he could hear was shouting from the militia and MacTavish shouting “Roach! 

Roach! Wake up!” ghost looks down to see nearly 100+ tangos. Ghost also saw roach 

stagger to his feet. Ghost and the rest of the team board the chopper while roach 

looks around. Ghost shouts to roach “roach! We can see them from the chopper! They’re 

coming for you, dozens of ‘em!” MacTavish looks and thinks “he will not last long” 

but tells him “Roach! There's too many of them! Get the hell out of there and find a 

way to the rooftops! Move! Run for it! Get to the rooftops!” Nicolai starts taking off 

so he can fly around the area to find him. After about 2 minutes and ghost is thinking 

that he is KIA. Then he hears MacTavish shout “Roach! I see you! Jump down to the 

rooftops and meet us south of your position! Go!” roach is running his fastest to get to 

the third LZ. After 2 minutes Nikolai looks at his fuel meter and shouts to the team 

“gas is very low! I must leave in thirty seconds!” roach runs into a big gap and 

shits himself. MacTavish shouts “Roach! We're running on fumes here! You got thirty 

seconds! Run! Left! Turn left and jump down! Come on!” roach slides down the corrugated 

roof and through a window to see Nikolai’s pave low hovering within jumping distance. 

Roach stopped then stepped back. MacTavish shouted “jump for it!” roach run as fast as 

he could and jumped for the rope ladder and nearly miss but he made it. Ghost sat in 

the back looking at the photos of his wife Billie. He remembered that feeling that he 

had during the wedding. Suddenly after daydreaming ghost heard MacTavish say 

“Nikolai! We got him! Get us out of here!” Nikolai replied “Where to, my friend?” 

MacTavish told him “Just get us to the sub” Nikolai starts to fly towards the next 

missions command point near Honolulu.
