Dreams and Nightmares

* A brown wolf with dark green eyes growled baring its sharp teeth. I shrunk back against the tree closing my eyes tightly. I turned my head to a roaring growl and opened my eyes to see my guardian wolf snarling at the brown wolf backing it into a tree. The wolves attacked each other in a nasty brawl. Blood and torn fur littered the ground. My guardian wolf turns to me to mind link and says " Get out of here and run back home as fast as you can" . I can only nod as shock and fear still have control over my body until the brown wolf attacks guardian from behind snapping his neck.I watch helplessly as the color and life go out in my dear guardian's eyes. The brown wolf turns his attention to me and mind links " your turn" while licking his blood covered lips. Screams filled my ears as he jumped towards me.*

I shot up covered in sweat and breathing rapidly. Most would say "it's just a dream, calm down" but truth is , it wasn't just a dream but a real reoccurring nightmare. Five year old me witnessed the horrific event unfold. Five year old me watched as her guardian angel wolf was killed while trying to protect me. I was snapped out of my thoughts when screams flooded into my ears. I hurriedly got out of bed and ran downstairs following the screams into the garden to see my parents watching my cousin Jillian (age:2) chasing my cousin Kaylene (age:2) who was screaming happily. I sighed in relief then smiled at my cousins. They ran and hugged my legs once they saw me . I hugged them back before they went back to playing. I nodded at my parents before going back in the house into the kitchen. I grabbed a green apple and exited the kitchen heading upstairs eating the apple every few steps. I threw the apple in a trash bin once reaching the top of the stairs and headed into my room to change. I changed into a black jacket , Cubs-Rizzo jersey top, blue jeans , and black nikes. After changing, I head to the end of the hallway into my office, opening the door i see my beta - Athena standing next to my desk while the pack's nurse/ musician Raven is sitting in a bean bag chair in front of my desk with Siarah and Macelene who are in charge of planning and speaking at the meetings . " Hey guys, what's on the agenda today?" i asked taking a seat at my desk. "One, nice jersey . Two, the Blood Moon Pack King has asked to meet with your parents." Macelene said. "Alright, first thanks and second what exactly aren't you telling me about this meeting?" i asked sternly but curiously. "Told you she would know if we left something out" Macelene said to the girls. I looked at them and got up before speaking again " Tell me now " i said in my alpha voice. Macelene sighed before saying " The whole Blood Moon pack is coming onto our territory for this meeting." "OK?" i said still confused about all the fuss. " The brown wolf that attacked guardian is believed to be in that pack" said Athena with a sad look. " Prepare the meeting room and tell the Blood Moon pack to come over as soon as possible" I said as flashes of the horrible event came rushing through my mind. " Right away" said the girls before leaving. I stared out the window and rubbed my scared wrists thinking of guardian.
