T'ming woke up to her mother Christine's taking a shower before going to work. she debated whether she should take a shower. She decided it would be most illogical since most of the hot water would be used up. She got out of bed and looked in the mirror. She glanced over herself her slanted eyebrows showed her strong Vulcan inheritance. Her ears however were not as pointed as her father's but were still pointed enough to bear the most resemblence to him. Her brown almost black hair was her father's the only resemblence to her mother was her eyes. She even shared her father's love of logic. Her mother sometimes had a hard time with the fact the could not express love tword her. Love is most illogical she thought, how much time humans spend focused on emotions ifs horrific.

She went into the main living area and saw her father,Spock, sitting. Even though she was 17 and already "engaged" (for those who watch star trek you know) she had a question to ask him. "Father why are all humans so emotional why? Why don't they all practice logic." Spock raised an eyebrow he realized that she would have a harder time controling her emotions since she was one quarter Vulcan but she was surprisingly good at it though.

"They have not realized...."

"Realized what?" Neither of them had realized that her mother had showed up.

"Realized that logic is the only way to create a functioning society." He extended his index and middle finger in the Vulcan sign of "love." Christine answerd the gesture by putting her index and middle finger on his.

She scoffed "Exestential hokum." Spock and T'ming shared looks of "disbelife." Christine left hurridly just as she did every morning to allow her husband to train T'ming in the ways of logic. Christine worked as a Nurse on Vulcan she formerly worked on the Enterprise. T'ming knew what was coming Spock positioned his fingers to do the mind meld. he did this at everyone of there sessions. She was going to learn how to do this Vulcan trick soon enough. It was a strange experience this time though when the mind meld was preformed. Her father began to cry profusely. She quickly backed away, She realized that her father was crying her tears not his. This startled her for she had no idea that all this emotion was built up in her.

"You are very good at cotrolling your emotions T'ming. For your emotions are very strong."

"Thank you father, I am sorry I overwhelmed you with unessesary emotions."

"As i was reading your thoughts during the mind meld I saw that you wish you could meet your betrothed, is that correct?"

"Yes."

"I have arranged a meeting tomorrow night will you be ready to meet him?"

"Yes father." she turned to walk away. "Why did you marry mother? I have never asked that."

"Your mother and I met while we were both working on the Enterprise. She was in love with me before I realized that the logical thing to do was marry her. Though in some ways it was illogical to marry someone with emotions but there is nothing I can do about it now."

"I shall be off now father to do my mornning meditaion before going to the Science Academy." With that last note she left for her room to meditate. While meditaion is usually a time for Vulcan' to channel their inner logic her meditation was much different. She sat down on her bed and sobbed uncontrolably she did not know why, she used her meditation period to let out her emotions without her father seeing her. While she had the Vulcan fisade around her father It was much harder than he knew when it came to her since she was one quarter Vulcan. As she cried she figured that the strain of keeping her emotions in check all the time was stressing her out. She understood stress it was taught at the Science Academy as part of the biological course that they were required to take.

Little did she know that her father would stand outside sometimes and share in her struggle silently with her. Even though he was Half Vulcan Spock understood the strain. He found it a bond between him and her. He understood that they each had to put on a fisade to face the Vulcan world. He knocked on her door. After hearing some scrambeling about she opened the door. Her eyes were red. Spock asked if he could enter. She told him yes and they both sat down on her bed. "T'ming may I give you some illogical counseling?"

"Go ahead." Knowing that it was not her place as a Vulcan woman to say no.

"Tell your mother you love her."

"Pardon?"

"Tell your mother that you love her."

"Why?"

"When your mother and I were aboard the Enterprise we were both afected by the Psi 2000 virus. That's when I learned that you mother loved me. When I was affected I let my emotions take over and I wished I had told my mother, your late grandmother that I loved her."

"I shall do that father. I must be going the Academy takes a dim veiw of bad punctuality." She hurried off to the Academy under Vulcan's two suns. When she arrived at the Academy she hurried off to her Microbiology class. They were going to be doing a lab that day.She was partnered with S'lack. S'lack was a boy about 1 year older than her. That day in the lab thay were working with cancer treating bacteriea. Taking samples of cancerous tissue and putting the differtent bacteria on it and studying the effectiveness of the different bacteria. They were to write a 4 page paper explaining the lab for homework. Sine there schooling was so intence they usually had one lab per day. After the lab T'pring went to two lectures, one explaining the phisics of the univers and one advanced calculus class. She was going to have several hors of homework. She hurried back home as the suns were setting on the horizon, she was taught that it was not safe to be outside at night.

As is customary in her house hold she was to do all her school work before interacting with the rest of the house hold. She sat down at her desk. She had a lot of work to do, but thatw was usual. Only the most dedicated and hard working were able to graduate. The Academy had very high expectations. After about 4 hours she left her room to say hello to her mother and father. She went to where Spock was sitting and gave him a hello. She went to her mother and told her sheloved her and gave her a hug. Christine couldn't believe it and all of the sudden began to cry and dissapeared to collect herself. Though no one could see it since his back was to them Spock gave a faint smile.

Dinner that night was steamed vegetables with a high protien sause(like soy sause but the Vulcan equivalent). After dinner she prepared herself for sleep, she took a shower since there was enough water. As she layed down to sleep she thought about something she hadn't thought about before. Why did she never experience Pon Farr. Then she realized the reason why; she was only a quarter Vulcan makeing the desire less strong. While her betrothed probably had to supplemate since they had never met each other before. She let sleep that night come to her in it's own sweet time.
