T'ming ran as fast as she could to Geordi. She knew he didn't have class at that moment. She had a giant smile on her face. As it turned out he was going to see her. So they ran into each other. They walked around the campus and talked. But some news struck harder than others. Most notably the news about S'lack. As it turns out she did love him and Geordi soon realized that he had no place left in her life. Though she wanted to stay friends. He was hit hard. This was just like every other relationship he'd ever had. He was always cast aside for someone else. The real difference was that she was married. Which he surmised, gave her cause to quit on their relationship. He wasn't ever to see her again and he knew it. She kissed his cheek and walked away. Geordi on the other hand went in search for some real booze.
T'ming went back to her dorm and composed herself before she walked in. As soon as she opened the door they said the same thing, "I have something I need to tell you."
T'ming started, "I need to tell you about Geordi. I almost made you divorce me so I could be with him and follow my emotions." She started. She gained more confidence, "We kissed and he once stayed up with me all night." She was scared.
"So you slept with him? Is that what you're trying to say T'ming?!"
"No, we never slept together. But we both wanted to."
"I'm not angry T'ming."
She looked at him with disbelief in her eyes.
"I too need to tell you something. Except it's worse than what you told me..." He trailed off
T'ming sat on the bed, bracing herself for what was coming next.
"T'ming, when we lived on Vulcan there was this girl named T'silla. She loved me and I loved her back. During Pon Farr we slept together. I was going to use this to get a divorce from you and go back to her but..."
T'ming was shocked; what she had done was bad, what he had done was so much worse. She didn't know what to feel could see S'lack's eyes searching her face for a sign of forgivness. She didn't know whether or not she should forgive him. She was still afraid of being struck. She stood up and left. She didn't head for the oak tree, she didn't even head for Geordi. Though the thought crossed her mind to sleep with him to spite S'lack, no, she headed for Deanna Troi. When she got to the dorm she knocked, after all she no longer lived here. She heard a "come in" and entered. Troi saw worry in T'ming's face and had her sit down.
"T'ming, what's wrong?" She was really concerned for the girl.
"I've just learned that S'lack has slept with another woman and was going to divorce me to go back to her." She started crying, she couldn't stop the tears.
"T'ming, forgive him! You yourself almost had and affair, he had this before he was married. Let bygones be bygones. Go back and forgive him."
That was a lot harder than Troi thought. To T'ming it meant a sort of groveling and T'ming did not grovel.
She went to the campus library and found a computer that could be used to video chat with others. She decided to ring up her parents. As she waited she brushed the tears away. Her father could never see her like this. She then saw her father's face on the screen.
"Hello, T'ming. It's quite a pleasantry for you to speak to us."
T'ming remembered that this was her father and she needed to compose herself. "Hello, father, I had to ask if oyu had known about S'lack's background?"
On the screen Spock shifted uneasily, "Yes, I did know about his sleeping with another woman and the fact he is half Romulan but because you were both different your mother, his parents, and I decided that it would be best to pair you two up."
