Beep, beep, beep!

I groan, and reach over to slap the top of my alarm clock, almost dislocating my shoulder in the process. I have really short arms for a 13 year old, okay?

After about 5 minutes of tossing and turning, I decide to get up, and out of bed. Thankfully, I have a room to myself, so I can blast my music whenever, but the others have to share a room.

I look over at my small chalkboard hanging on the wall, next to my bathroom door, and my heart dropped when I read what was on it..

"Adoption Day: October 13th"

"Aw shit," I whisper-screamed. "Adoption day."

I groaned, and then stormed into my bathroom and slammed the door, probably waking the others up, but I didn't care. I hate adoption day..

10 minutes later, I was finished in the bathroom. I swung the door open, stubbing my toe in the process, so I limped out of the bathroom and to my closet. I pull out a Green Day hoodie and some blood red skinny jeans, and effortlessly put them on. I put my black, custom made Panic! shoes on, so that my stubbed toe wouldn't hurt anymore than it does.

*15 minutes later* (A/N - I don't know how orphanages work, apologies if it's a little off)

"Alice! 5 minutes until people show up, come down please!" Jenny, a worker here screamed. I sighed heavily before making my way downstairs to the others. For the next 5 minutes, there was an uncomfortable silence, before the main door opened, and closed about a minute later.

Michelle, the other worker, coughed loudly but softly, causing us to jerk our heads up as the visitors walked in. As we were all stood in a fairly straight line, we had to take turns getting stared at by strangers, and luckily, I was last, so I had to wait a little while before a stranger burned their eyes through my skull.

20 minutes and 5 pairs of eyes later, we were finally finished, and allowed to go back to our rooms. To be honest, all of them were really nice except from the second to last guy.. Something just seemed, off about him. He had this permanent I'm-gonna-kill-you look, which kind of scared me a little. But, he looked oddly familiar,  fire red hair, that was about shoulder length, eyes that were squinting 90% of the time he was here, and a mischievous smirk, barely visible, but really visible to me. I decided to brush off the fact that he looked familiar, and rushed off to my room.
