"Lyn, you want to explain who this is, and why she's still here?" He asked, getting frustrated. My mouth, once again, dropped open, and I stood there, shocked.
"Gee, you adopted her 2 days ago. She's your daughter you idiot!" She argued back, her face slowly turning a beetroot color. She protectively placed her arm around me, and pulled me close.
"Don't worry," she whispered. "He'll remember soon."
*3 days later; 11am*
3 hours. 3 dreadful hours this argument has been going on. Luckily, Bandit, who's became quite close to me lately, wasn't involved in this argument, just 'Gee' and Lyn. I had an arm protectively wrapped around her waist, and another on the back of her head, bouncing my knee up and down nervously, along with her.
I hear footsteps banging up the stairs, and luckily past my room. Bandit was resting her chin on my shoulder as I massaged the back of her head lightly, sniffing lightly every so often. I heard a final 'Fuck you!' before a door slamming, indicating the argument was finally over.
"Hey, Bandit?" I asked softly. She lifted her head off my, now sore shoulder, eyes puffy and red, eyes glossed over. She muttered an almost inaudible 'What?' before forcefully slamming her chin on my other shoulder. "It's over now, they've stopped." I hear a heavy sigh, and felt a slight nod on my shoulder.
I was about to remove Bandit's tight grip from me, but, once again, I heard my door squeak, and 2 footsteps, indicating someones in my room. I turn my head in the direction of my door, and there he is. Gee.
"Bandit Lee Way!" He angrily exclaims. "Why are you with this stranger?!"
Before she could get her say in this, he storms over, grabs her wrist forcefully, drags her off me, and out of my room.
'Damn Lyn,' I think. 'How long will soon be?'
*3pm*
It's been awkwardly silent since the incident with Gee and Bandit happened. Apart from my stomach growling at me, nothing family-like has happened. No footsteps, no talking or murmurs. It's like a ghost town here.
My stomach growls loudly, so I decide to stop being such a wuss, and go downstairs for some food. I creep over to my door, and open it slightly, slipping out. I ran down the stairs, almost falling a few times, and to the kitchen. But nothing prepared me for what I saw as I opened the door.
(A/N - I physically hate myself for writing this)
Bandit, held upside down, head centimeters away from the floor. Blood pouring from, what it looked like, her stomach, leaving a pool of ruby red blood on the floor. It wasn't a big cut, luckily, but she was bound to at least faint soon enough.
"Gee?" I heard a worried voice say behind me, Lyn. "What are you doing to Bandit? Put her down!"
His head jerked to where me and Lyn stood, purposely showing a bloody knife grasped in his other hand. His eyes widened when he saw us, and he dropped both Bandit and the knife on the floor, and strolled up to Lyn, leaving me to, hopefully, sort out Bandit. I ran over to her and gently helped her up so she was sitting and not lying.
I grabbed a nearby towel, and applied pressure to the, still bleeding wound, making her wince a little.
"Bandit?" I asked, concerned. She looks up from the floor, and at me, her eyes glossed over.
"What?" She said quietly.
"Apply pressure to your wound with the towel, while I go and get some bandages. Okay?"
She didn't respond, so I took that as a 'I don't want to talk, but go ahead', but as I stood up, she grabbed my wrist.
"Can I come with you?" She asked softly. "I don't wanna be alone with Mom and Dad."
She looked up at me, and I simply nodded. She held up her free arm, as if to say 'Pick me up.' so I did just that.
*3:45pm*
Bandit's all bandaged up, I put enough pressure on the wound to hopefully stop the bleeding. We're currently in her bedroom, I'm sat on her small bed, and she's sat on my lap.
We both jumped when we heard a piercing smash coming from downstairs. And then a shout. And another shout. And another one.
"Great," I said out loud. "Another fu- stupid argument." Bandit looked at me with a scared expression plastered on her face, so I pulled her close, her face nuzzled into the crease of my collarbone. I rocked her back and forth for a while, until I heard faint snores vibrating my chest.
I didn't want to leave her alone, so I carefully stood up, opened her bedroom door, slid out, and made my way to my bedroom. But I didn't enter, oh no. He was there, trashing my room, looking for something. He didn't notice we we're there, until Bandit coughed softly, accidentally grabbing his attention.
He stormed out, eyeing up Bandit, but before he could grab her and rip her off me, she screams, "No. DAD. No. Don't hit me again.. Don't hit me." She held the 'e', and then trailed off into soft snores again.
We both looked at Bandit, and then at eachother, mouths open, eyes wide.
