9:30am, Friday. 2 days after he adopted me. I've been in, what I figured out to be, my room since I got here, and not once has he came to check on me. I had to haul everything upstairs, and for a 13 year old with absolutely no muscles, it took me a while. I haven't seen his daughter or supposed wife around either, no footsteps, no faint talking or laughter, it's just been quiet..

*10:15am*

'Hey, hey bro. You have a call from an unknown number'

My head shot up when I heard my phone ring, an unknown, but familiar number. I decided to pick up.

'Hello? Is this Alice Way?' the voice at the other end of the line asked.

I stayed silent for a while before answering with a soft, 'yes, although it's Dam-'

'Oh,' the voice interrupted, 'This is your dads brother, Mikey. Is he there right now?'

I gulped loudly before responding, 'I-I don't know where he is, I've been in the same place for two da-..'

The dial tone screeched in my ears, as I sat with my mouth open, my heart racing. What was that about? Did he know me? Questions raced through my mind, but I had no answers to them.

*11:15am*

I'm still confused about what that phone call was about. I was about to call this mysterious person back to ask, but I got distracted by my door getting swung open. It was him.. Mr. Way. He looked as if he'd been running somewhere, as his hair was stuck up in places, a few strands lying across his forehead. He was looking at the floor as he struggled to catch his breathe, but when he looked up and at me, he jumped.

There was an awkward silence before he asks, obviously struggling to breathe, "Who the fuck are you, and why are you in my daughters room?"

My jaw, once again, dropped to the floor, and I sat there, staring at him. I finally plucked the courage to say "Excuse me?" my voice cracking in the process.

He stared at me with furrowed eyebrows, and an unreadable expression on his face. "You heard me, who the fu-.."

"You don't remember adopting me?" I asked loudly, holding back tears. "You don't remember 2 days ago? The look on your face priceless, like you'd just won $1,000,000!"

Again, another awkward silence. But, instead of breaking the silence, he just stormed away, slamming the door behind him. I felt like someone just walked up to me and stabbed me in the heart, and left me. How could he not remember?

*1pm*

My stomach growls at me for the 10th time today. I haven't eaten in 2 days, but I really need to now, otherwise I'm gonna digest myself. I slowly stand up, letting my legs adjust to being in the standing position, and make my way to my door. I opened my door a tiny bit, to see no-one there, so I opened it just enough so I could slip through it, and made my way downstairs to, I believe, the kitchen.

I opened the door to, I'm guessing, the kitchen, but froze on the spot when I saw a female figure leaning against the counter on her elbows, looking out of the window. I softly cough, which gets her attention, and she turns around quickly. She had an angry expression at first, but once she saw me, that expression softened, and she warmly smiles at me.

"Hey, Alice right? I'm Lyn-Z, but people just call me Lyn." She sticks her hand out for me to shake, and I gladly take it.

"Yeah, I'm Alice," I say shakily. "but I prefer the name Dami-.."

Before I could finish my sentence, she grabbed me by the wrist and dragged me to a new section of the house I haven't seen before. Before she opened the door we stood infront of, I heard a faint, high pitched squeal coming from inside, and then a lower laugh.

"So, uh, who's in there?" I asked softly.

"Lets see, shall we." She says softly, opening the door to a light purple colored room littered with toys.

The child in the room shot up and ran to me, engulfing me in a bone crushing hug. "I'm Bandit," she beams, before pointing at the male in the room. "That's my dad!" I didn't recognize him at first, as his hair was blonde/yellow, but as soon as he turned around, my whole body froze.
