Chapter 4- Alyssa
" I'm going out now guys! Text me if you need anything!" Kylie calls out from the front door. Uriah nods and waves. She gives us a smile and leaves the house. Jack comes into the living room, rubbing his eyes.
" Hey kid, how'd you sleep?" Uriah asks. Jack gives him a thumbs up.
" Did Kylie leave already?" Jack asks sitting on the couch. Uriah nods.
" Hi Lyssa!" Jack says grinning at me. I grin back. Jack is my second favorite person on the team. Sorry Uriah and Jessica.
" Someone text Kylie that I need some coffee," Jessica says coming into the living room.
" You have your own phone, you do it," Uriah says coming back from the kitchen. Jessica nods and takes out her phone, quickly texting Kylie. I grab my phone and scroll through my Pinterest.
" What do you guys want for breakfast?" Uriah asks. I jump up.
" Pancakes!" I exclaim getting everything ready. Uriah shrugs and helps me. Jessica does the same and we work together to make them. Jack sits on a stool and watches us make them. We mix and whip everything up quickly. I make them and set them in front of Jack.
Jack's eyes widen. He immediately digs into the stack of four pancakes I put in front of him. We watch amused as he devours them.
" Slow down Jack, jeez you're going to choke," Jessica says putting a glass of warm milk in front of him. He smiles sheepishly and takes a drink. He swallows and chews slower.
"That's more like it." Uriah says ruffling his hair. Jack smiles at him and we all grab a plate and serve ourselves. I grab three pancakes. Uriah and Jessica both grab five.
I give them a look. They give me a identical smile.
"You guys are weird," I say sitting next to Jack.
" She's not wrong you know." we hear a deep voice say from behind us. We turn.
Drake.
" What are you doing here Drake?" Uriah says standing up.
" Do not be alarmed Uriah. Would you mind telling me what time it is at this moment?" Drake asks pointing at Uriah's phone. Uriah turns on his phone and looks at the time.
" It's 10:22," He replies looking up at us.
" That's right. Where is the file?" Drake says grabbing a spare pancake.
" You will never find it," Uriah hisses. Drake raises an eyebrow.
" And why is that?"
" It's hidden. It's safe where we hid it and you will never find it," Uriah sneers. Drake comes up right in front of him.
" We'll see about that," He says backing up.
Uriah furrows his eyebrows.
" Where are you going?"
" Oh, I don't think I could tell you," Drake says mockingly. Uriah's eyes harden.
Before we can even blink, two men come out of the shadows and they grab Jack.
"No!" Uriah screams reaching for Jack.
" Uriah!" Jack says before he disappears with the two men.
" Where'd you take him?" Uriah asks turning to face Drake.
" That's a secret. The only way to get him back is to give me the file," Drake answers before he too disappears. Uriah yells in frustration. He grabs his phone and calls someone.
" What's wrong?" I hear Kylie's voice answer.
" They took Jack," Uriah answers.
" When?"
" Like a minute ago," Uriah winces.
" I'm on my way. I'll be there in a second," Kylie says before she hangs up.
Kylie is here in no less than a second, just like she promised.
" What happened?" Kylie asks standing next to Uriah.
" Drake got in somehow and he started to talk to us. They took Jack after he mocked Uriah," I say. She licks her lips and nods. She turns around and heads for the stairs.
" Go change into your mission suits. We are going to get Jack back," She says pausing before she climbs the stairs to her office. We look at each other and sprint to our offices. I pull on my mission suit and pack a bag with supplies. We meet each other at the door.
Our mission suits are black jumpsuits that are bullet proof. The girls have a jumpsuit with gloves and our hair is up in a ponytail. The guys have A black jacket and pants. We all wear comfortable boots. Kylie comes down last, her bag slung over her shoulder. Her face is serious and she looks stressed. She looks at all of us.
" Ready?"
" All set," Uriah answers for us. She nods.
" Let's go," She says opening the door for us.
Let's get this show on the road.
