Chapter Seven- The Real Tour
“The status code?” I asked, “What is that?”
Shane sighed, slowing down just barely so I could catch up to him. We were walking around aimlessly, while I bothered Landon with dozens of questions about what the hell had just happened to me. I was scared and weirded out as hell, but more than that, I was curious.
I can tell you, there are a lot of things I enjoy doing in this beautiful world.
And thinking about the fact that the five guys I had recently had the pleasure of wanting to do me, I had a whole new appreciation for life as we know it.
I should do something nice for the world. Maybe I could go adopt a cat or a giraffe or something. Although I don’t think Landon would particularly enjoy rooming with a giraffe. Maybe a cat…except I was allergic.
“The status code is an elite group or gang in St. Andreas. They’re at the top of the social list which basically means they can do whatever they want. The Status Code group has been going on since five generations ago. It’s passed down from father to son unless there is a daughter in which case, the daughter picks a guy suitable to join the group.”
What the hell was this gang?
“What do they do around school?” I asked as we walked near towards a fast-food joint. Five guys scaring the shit out of me had made me hungry.
It was called ‘The MilkShake Joint’. That was an impressive title.
Maybe I needed warn Landon about what sugar did to me. On the other hand, he could find out after I drank something. I desperately needed the sugar.
Food. It was to answer to all emotions.
But in the back of my mind, I had another emotion. It felt like the thought of eating was going to make me gain weight. What was wrong with me? I had never been that kind of girl. I loved going to Anne’s bakery and trying everything there with Brennan. I loved food. Cooking it and eating it.
“Do you want to know what they do or what they’re supposed to do?” Landon asked me.
“Both.” I replied as we walked in to the shop. It was a chic place with 80’s upbeat music playing and bright colored, polka dotted walls.
“Well the original Status Code decided the social order/status of each student. They organized parties and made sure St. Andreas was the best place to be.” Shane told me. “They were also a matchmaking group. Some of the best couples in this school were made by them and are still together.”
“And what do they do now?” I asked as we sat on one of the bar stools in front of the counter.
“Well for one, what they did to you. But that’s not even the bad part. They’ve created this scary atmosphere for the rest of us. What they do is every year, each one of them- Lawrence, Ryder, Xander, Percy, and…ugh…Spain- have a project, a virgin, a toy and a special.”
“What do you mean by a project, a virgin, a special, and a toy?”
“They each chose one girl as a project- someone they want to break emotionally-one girl as a virgin and make sure that she isn’t a virgin anymore, a toy which is basically a slut they use for their amusement.”
“And a special?” I asked, clearly revolted. I shuddered. Even the thought of something like that scared me.
“This one’s the worst. They find one perfect girl- looks, personality, brains, talent- and they get her addicted to drugs, alcohol, partying, and anything else you can think of and they ruin her. They turn her into one of them.”
