Javen's POV

I just asked a random stranger that I found on the street over to my house? What am I doing?

Erik's POV

Javen's house was normal sized but to me it looked huge. Like a mansion. It was a standard brick house. It was a two story with white columns that looked like they held up the whole building.
The front yard was incredible! It had a nice cobblestone path that led through a flower garden. The garden had varieties of flower such as roses, tulips, daisies, sunflowers, and a couple of poppies.
Javen began to walk along the path that led straight to the front door. I quickly followed behind excited to enter his enormous looking house.
Inside it was warm and cozy. It looked like there was to much furniture for just the living room. There were three couches and five tables all pressed up against the walls. The TV was hanging off the wall and in the center of the room there was a coffee table with too many magazines piled on top.
Javen's mom was standing in the kitchen which look fairly organized. Javen and I walked towards her.
Javen: Hey mom, I brought my friend over I hope that's alright?
Oh yes that's fine! She said while turning around and looking at me. She stared me down for a few seconds then turned back around and began to cook once again.
Javen: Let's go up to my room, it's much more uncluttered. He said while spinning in a circle emphasizing the mess.
Me: Ok let's go.
His room was neat. It had only a few pieces of furniture including a bed, dresser, and a bookshelf. There was also a small desk and chair with a laptop on it in the far corner.
Javen: This is my man cave!
     Me: It's amazing!
Javen: No it's actually not that great, but I like it.
I then wondered over to his bookshelf which had a few shelves full of books. On the bottom shelf held a bunch of old records. I flipped through them slowly reading each title.
     They were all 1970's music.
I turned back too him eyeing him suspiciously. "I never new you liked this kind of music, you and your friends always listen to rap or ghetto music."
Yeah, I love that type of music, rap isn't really my kind of style of music.
I walked back over to his bed and sat down. He came and sat down next to me. He scooted closer to me leaving only a few inches between us. I started to get butterfly's at the pit of my stomach. I turned to him. We made eye contact.
Javen: You know, I like you right?
Me: Yes, I took a few hints.
     Javen: Do you like me?
Me: Maybe, I don't know yet. I said looking into his eyes and smiling cheekily.
Javen laughed. Tell me when you figure it out, maybe it can turn into something.
                                          •••

Javen lied down a mattress for me to sleep in next to his bed. He handed me a few pillows as well as some blankets.
Javen: There you go, goodnight sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite. He said smiling down at me.
     Me: Same to you, goodnight.
                                         •••

     The next morning...
I opened my eyes to see Javen standing over me. He was gently shaking me to get up.
Javen: Come on you big log, get up! He said pushing me off the mattress and onto the cold hardwood floor.
I laughed and stood up and began to put my shirt on. He laughed behind me.
     Me: What?
Javen: Nothing, I just think your so cute.
     Me: Thanks I guess.
     Javen: Let's go eat breakfast.
     Me: Ok.
I could already smell the pancakes cooking from his room. The smell grew stronger as I walked down the stairs behind Javen.
I then sat down at the dining room table and put a napkin and my lap.
     Javen: Don't be so modest!
     Me: Am I?
Javen: Yeah, just put the napkin back on the table and wipe your face on it if you get a little messy.
I sat the napkin back on the table. Javen's mom came into the room carrying a giant stack of pancakes on a blue plate. She sat them on the very center of he table. "Dig in!" she said.
We all ate, chatting about how good it was and talked about school, even though I didn't go.
Javen: Mom, me and Erik are going out, is that ok?
Javen's mom: Yes, have fun boys. She said while cleaning up after us.
