Javen's POV

Whilst eating me and Erik decided on our first place to go. We both agreed to go swimming in the Great Barrier Reef. The biggest and most beautiful reef in the world.
We wanted to walk there since it wasn't very far from the restaurant. We skipped down the sidewalk towards our destination, I was excited about our trip which clearly showed through the huge smile across my face.
Halfway there Erik grabbed my hand crisscrossing his fingers between mine, squeezing slightly, making my heart swell. He looked over to me and smiled.
     Erik: Are you excited?
Javen: Yes! I'm so ready to see the fish, although I'm a little nervous because I've never been scuba diving before.
Erik: Don't be nervous, it's super fun. I went when I was seven so I can't really remember but I'm sure I enjoyed it.
Javen: As long as I have you I won't have to be scared. You won't let me drown will you?
     Erik: Of course not.
Erik then kissed the top of my head. Blushing intensely I turned away, looking at the shops as we passed.
After about a twenty minute walk we finally arrived. We walked into the building straight to the receptions desk to sign up to swim. We each signed up for scuba diving lessons before we jumped into the water. We sat down waiting for a moment before they called us back. As I sat there I studied the walls, painted white with little blue fish dotted everywhere. They were all different shapes, sharks, swordfish, dolphins, sea stars, angel fish, and any other thing you could think of. After around an hour or so of sitting there waiting they finally called us back for our lesson.
"Welcome, today you will be learning how to scuba dive. First please put on all your gear and meet me at the beach. We will be practicing in the shallow water and then moving on from there."
The instructor then left the room and headed toward the beach.
Erik and I headed towards the changing room, me going into the one on the left, him on the right. I was excited.

                                     Erik's POV

I went in the changing room on the right. I slopped my clothes off and sat them on the small bench in the corner that barely came up to my knees. I got the rubbery outfit over my body and looked at myself in the mirror that hung on the back of the door. Let me just say, this costume was tight.
Me and Javen met back up in the waiting room and headed out the back door towards the beach where the instructor stood.
It was a windy day, the waves crashed loud and rough on the big rock that scattered the beach. The sun beamed down brightly on us the heat radiating off our black and dark blue scuba suits.
Javen tapped me on the shoulder snapping me back to reality. He pointed at the instructor who was explaining how to use the oxygen tank. "How much did I miss?" I asked Javen. A lot, but I'll explain it to you when we get on the boat.
We climbed on the boat which rocked with the oceans current. I looked at the sky and then back at the boat. It was white with black writing on the side. Apparently the boat had been named "Echo" which was written in big letters with a cursive type font.
My and Javen sat right next to each other he grabbed my hand and held it tightly.
Erik: Are you ok?
Javen: Yeah, I'm  just a little scared of the ocean.
Erik: Aww you'll be ok, I'm here. You saved me off the streets so I'll rescue you and comfort you now.
I kissed him in the cheek and nestled my head into the crook of his neck. He gently laid his head on top of mine and we rode to the reef in a calm msilence, listening to one another's breathing and the oceans waves crashing into the side of the boat.

Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed this chapter. It's a little short since I have posted in a while and wanted to hurry and put something out. Thanks for reading though. Again, if you have any spelling corrections or anything like that, feel free to comment! Thanks! ❤️️
