It was friday and Gerard was pacing around his room back and forth, almost completely unaware that he was bothering his parents on the floor below him and Mikey who was just down the hall, but he didn't really care anyway, he was thinking, and thinking led to pacing, and pacing led to annoyed family members who'd complain about hearing his footsteps tap against the floor, but he'd argue that maybe they should've put carpet down in his room instead of just having wooden floor.
But then again, Gerard really liked having wooden floors, because he didn't have to worry about staining carpets when he did painting, but it was, quite literally, a pain in the ass when he sat in front of his mirror to do his makeup but his mother gave him a rug to sit down on so he could sit without having butt aches.
Gerard didn't have a vanity, just a foggy wall mirror that he'd sit in front of, and well, technically it wasn't really a wall mirror as it was on the floor, only leaning against the wall, but it has string on the back of it do you could hang it on a hook on a wall so it's true destiny was to be on wall but Gerard didn't enjoy standing at the early hours of the morning to hide his face with, hopefully, unnoticeable makeup, so, floor mirror it was.
Gerard was snapped out of what thought plagued his mind at that moment, when Mikey knocked loudly before barging in a second later without hearing for Geradd's response, obviously annoyed with his brother's pacing.
"Gerard, shut the fuck up," Mikey said, crossing his arms as he looked at Gerard who had now stopped pacing and was now biting his lip as he looked at his brother innocently. "Mum just texted me because you weren't replying to her texts, she said you're creating a draft, also, really fucking annoying by the way, I have homework to be done and you're making me unfocused so just-"
Mikey didnt finish what he was saying, cutting himself off as his eyes drifted to Gerard's bed and the packed overnight bag that laid on it and he raised and eyebrow at his brother, wondering what he was doing.
"Why have you packed your overnight bag?" Mikey asked, not really angry like he should be, but curious and wondering where he'd be going as he was grounded. Mikey let put a frustrated huff when his brother didn't answer, sighing a little, "You're grounded."
"I know," Gerard muttered, "but I already told Frank I would go."
"Frank?" Mikey asked confused, "I thought you didn't like Frank."
Gerard chuckled, he had no idea how he felt about Frank, but he knew he liked him at least a little, otherwise he would have told him that he was grounded and couldn't go, so obviously Gerard thought of Frank as some kind of friend, more than an aquantance at least.
"I don't know Mikes," he sighed running a hand through his hair, "but he's the only one I've got besides you, and you hang out with your friend's more than with me, and Frank's usually there when you're not, I can't help but to like him, we're friends."
Mikey grinned, happy his brother was finally being smart and accepting the friendship Frank was offering but he was still worried about him getting caught and in even more trouble if his parents saw he wasnt here.
"I think you should go," Mikey nodded, noticing the confused expression on Gerard's face. "You clearly want to, so just do it, I know you're deciding if you should or not, risk getting into trouble, but just go, I won't tell mum and dad anything, I promise, just go hang out with your only friend."
"You're my friend too, Mikes."
"I'm your brother, that's kind of sad." Gerard nodded in agreement, sighing and lifting the bag over his head and on his shoulder so it hung over his chest, "how are you going to get out without them seeing you."
Gerard bit his lip and pointed out the window and Mikey narrowed his eyebrows, looking out and seeing it was too high for Gerard to jump without at least spraining his ankle.
"Gerard, there's a tree at my window, you can use it to climb down." Gerard nodded and followed Mikey quietly to his room and opened the window, looking out at the tree that seemed to have stable branches.
"Okay, uh, thank you Mikey," Gerard smiled, climbing out slowly, the overnight bag weighing him down as he placed a shaking foot on one of the branches, his hands moving down to grip the tree tightly. "Bye Mikes."
Honestly, he felt really parkour-like right now, so badass and hardcore, climbing trees and sneaking out, mentally giving himself the name of 'Gerardcore', thinking it sounded like hardcore- which he totally was.
He slowly made his way along the tree, feeling like some secret goverment spy on a mission as he did so, eventually dropping the overnight bag to the ground which made it so much easier to climb down, before finally reaching land and making his way to Frank's, with the hard-to-carry overnight bag on his shoulder.
He used his phone for a map to Frank's realising he didn't live too far, but he still felt afraid that someone would come up and stab him and take all his stuff, Belleville was the exact opposite of safe so he was a littke scared when he heard even the smallest of sounds.
But then Gerard remembered that he wasn't Gerard, he was Gerardcore. He wasn't scared of anything, except he totally was but wouldn't admit it.
He eventually found Frank's house, knocking on the door quietly, but apparently Frank still heard it because he was opening the door a moment later and ushering Gerard inside and up the stairs, skipping the introductions, before they finally made it to what Gerard assumed to be Frank's bedroom.
Frank's room was a lot different to Gerard's, it had space themed walls, a whole galaxy around his room and Gerard was in awe of it, hearing Frank shut the door making Gerard jump and turn around and see the his door looked like the fucking TARDIS and Gerard was done.
"You're room is so fucking awesome oh my god you're a Doctor Who slut," Gerard said without thinking and Frank just giggled.
"My mum was always really into space so before I was born, since dad said he didn't want it in their room, she got my room painted like this, except two years ago my door was the same until I asked for a TARDIS door and she looked so proud of me," Frank laughed at the memory.
"So, you're a space family?"
"Dad's not too into it, but mum loves it, she always wanted to be an astronaut but she's terrifed of flying and the idea she might no come back, but dad built her a room down the end of the hall when he realised how big her obsession was," Frank smiled.
"That's beautiful," Gerard said, smiling, Frank's parents were really what the kids these days called goals. "What about you?"
"I love space, not obsessed with it, but Doctor Who sort of made me appreciate it more somehow, I don't know, it sounds stupid, but my mum understands what I mean, she said she watched the older episodes when she was a kid and was the reason she got into space in the first place."
Gerard smiled, finding him taking a liking to Frank's mother, not even having met her, she sounded awesome and thought how lucky Frank was to have a mother who was passionate about something, unlike Gerard's own mother who hadn't mentioned having a passion for anything.
"Anyway," Frank said, changing the subject, "what do you want to do? Do you like board games?" Gerard nodded and Frank pulled out fucking Scrabble from no where. "I'm gonna kick your fucking ass Gerard just you fucking try me."
And Gerard thought that this might just be the most intense Scrabble game he'd ever played.
