I sit down and close my eyes running through all the information I have gathered.
Father; Robert, alibi matches up, heartbroken, brave, strong, lawyer, his house, traditional, good father, kind, loving- not the murderer
Mother; Alice, no alibi, traditional, strict mother, in floods of tears - still a suspect
Maids; Christa and Melody, went home after 8:00pm, had Christmas Day off, alibi matches, honest, good people - not murderers
Fiancé; Jake, good, kind man, heartbroken, no alibi - still a suspect
Oldest child; Zeke, 14, alibi matches - not murderer
Twins; Zach and Elijah, 8, alibi matches - not murderers
3 adopted children; Elsie, Mei and Bo 11, 7 and 3, alibi matches - not murderers
Brother; Dr Thomas Williams, alibi matches, truly upset - not murderer
Sister-in-law; Elizabeth, alibi matches, cold hearted woman - not murderer
Niece and Nephew; alibi matches- not murderer
In conclusion, if the murderer was someone inside the house it was either the mother or fiancé. How sick.

I open my eyes.
"What've you got?"
"It was the mother or fiancé, IF the murderer was in this house. I'm leaning towards the mother though."
Lestrade's face scrunches up in confusion. I sigh and explain:
"Why would you kill you're fiancé, he wasn't going to gain anything. The mother however, has been struggling with her daughter since the day she was born. Mrs Williams is upper class, strict and traditional, Jane was always the opposite, dragging the family name in mud. Mrs Williams has been a social outcast because of it for a long time. They never got on well, always argued over everythin-"
"A gun! We've found a gun!"
I spring up from my seat and bound downstairs. Rushing into the room, I find the voice.
"It was under the floorboards, Miss Holmes, and it's got fingerprints all over it."
"I suspect it's Mrs Williams, check her first."
"Yes Miss Holmes."

"Miss Holmes?"
"Yes?"
"You're right, Miss Holmes, the fingerprints match Mrs Williams."
Although I got it right, my heart sinks. What kind of mother would be evil? What kind of mother would murder?
"Arrest her." I state solemnly. "I'll inform her husband and he can decide what to tell the family."
