"The tea." I suddenly whisper.
"What?"
"THE TEA!" I shout excitedly looking at Dad. "You're right, I was being stupid! Ohhh, it was so obvious staring us in the face!"
"What?"
"This family is the most traditional family you'll ever meet! There's so much evidence for that it's overwhelming! Which means the women makes the tea, therefore it wasn't Mr Williams! But it doesn't stop there!
Alice went out yesterday from 5pm till 10pm. And Jane had gone to bed last night with her tea at 9:30, Mr Williams, Jane's fiancé and her brother all told me that. So Alice wasn't here to make the tea.
Now did Jane make the tea? No, as Alice was being arrested she said, and I quote 'Jane was such an awful daughter, she refused to even make a pot of tea'. So Jane didn't make the tea.
The tea was made at approximately 9:15, and the maids had left by this time so the only other woman to make the tea is; Elizabeth Williams, Dr Williams wife and Jane's sister-in-law! I knew there was something odd about her! Why you ask? She wanted to inherit more from her parents-in-laws when they die. Oh, it always come back to money! So you see I'm right! It wasn't Mr Williams."
"Quite right too." I hear a voice behind me say. I spin around to find Elizabeth pointing a gun at my head. Psychopath...
"Say Goodbye, Miss Holmes. Oh, and you too Mr Holmes" she pulls out a second gun and points it at his head.
I grin widely.
"No. I think it'll be more of a see you later." I respond as one of Jane's kids knocks her out with a frying pan.
"Excellent performance, young sir. I am indebted to you." I thank Zeke, while cringing at my posh manner. He nods at me, breathing heavily with tears streaming down his face.
"For mum." He states.
I smile at him sadly. Police officers, medical personnel and Jake rush into the scene. In all the commotion, I manage to make out a quiet conversation.
"Does this mean you won't be my dad now?" I hear Zeke question Jake.
"Do you want me to be?"
"Yeah."
I look up to see them embrace each other in a hug, each with rivers streaming from their eyes but I see hope on the other side.
