WENDY

"What should we do, Wen?" Cole asked me, as a group of my friendship and I entertained ourselves on a Friday night.

It was finally the end of the week, leading up to a long weekend. I'd been bored at work when I texted Julie, one of my friends, and said we should hang out on Friday night. She then told Heather, who texted Matt, who told Cole.

So now, we were entertaining ourselves on a Friday night, before we went out to see a movie that was way past my usual bedtime.

"Um," I glanced down at my phone, checking the time. "We could play spin the bottle?"

"Are you serious?" Julie asked with a smile, "I haven't heard of that since the eighties!"

"You didn't exist in the eighties," I retorted, plain faced. Everyone laughed and Julie faked a pout, "salty."

"We could play it where you spin the bottle, and whoever it lands on says 'never have I ever'," I explained to everyone.

"We should play truth or dare later. When we're all up in the exhaustion fumes, you know?" Matt suggested, a twisted smile appearing on his face.

We all looked at him with blank expressions plastered on our faces.

"What?"

He's so creepy, I just can't sometimes.

"Here," Heather put a bottle onto my coffee table. I looked around at everyone, my eyes stopping for little longer at Cole. He gave me a smile, which caused my heart to flutter.

Out of my diverse group of friends, Cole was the first one I became close with. Which was surprising to me, since I was always friends with just girls.

I liked Cole; a lot. This is the main reason I had never been close with guys before, I always felt a connection. But, I put it aside.

His blue eyes sparkled as he looked down at the bottle, giving it a spin. As it slowed, it was clear that it would land on Matt, Julie, or me.

"Of course it lands on Wendy!" Matt exclaims, smiling. I smiled as well, laughing.

Cole shrugged, "okay, um-"

"Ask her something interesting, C," Heather told him, smirking. I rolled my eyes, with full knowledge that she was trying to start something.

Before I could object to a category, Cole spoke up, "making out."

"Ooh!" Everyone else sounded, basically whispering. My cheeks and neck started tingling, and my heart rate increased.

"Never have I ever... Made out with a guy while..." I looked up, then down at my hands, "I shouldn't say-"

"Come on. No one is gonna judge you." Matt urged me.

But someone might want to...

"In the shower," I said, practically whispering.

Heather and Matt smirked, while Julie seemed confused.

"Wha- Oh..." She realized, smiling. "Really?"

I nodded, not daring to look at Colin. But my eyes went to him, his cheeks and neck as red as a rose.

"My turn!" Julie exclaimed, leaning over to spin the bottle. She could have said nothing at all. Considering how loud my heart was beating, it wouldn't have made a difference.

******

"God, I can't believe I said that!" I whispered to Heather as we made our way into the theater.

I wasn't one to talk about my sex life, especially not with the guys. The only person I felt truly comfortable discussing it with was Heather.

It wasn't like I necessarily cared all that much if everyone else knew. But, it was one of those things I kept very private.

And now Cole knew.

Cole.

"I wonder what he's thinking of me now," I shook my head, releasing a long sigh.

"He's probably wishing it was him you didn't make out with in the shower, if you know what I mean."

"What are you talking about, Heather?"

She stopped the both of us in our tracks and gave me an incredulous look.

"Wendy."

"What?"

"...Do not... Don't tell me that, all this time, you didn't realize the kid has the hots for you?"

I scoffed, walking towards the theater once again, "stop this."

"You can't be serious!" She exclaimed, running up beside me. "It's so obvious."

I smiled, "okay, I knew. I was just kidding-"

"HA! I knew it! You two should a lil some some, hm?"

I smacked her lightly in the arm, "get your head out of the gutter. We're really good friends, I wouldn't want to mess that up."

She rolled her eyes and let out a long, heaving sigh, full of seeming frustration, "oh GOSH! This 'don't wanna ruin a friendship' crap is so cliche!"

I stopped us right as we entered the cinema, before we got close enough for the others to hear us, "it's true, Heather. If the two of us did something like that and it didn't work out, how would we all hang out normally ever again? And, what if I got a boyfriend? Or, he got a girlfriend? Wouldn't that just ignite jealousy?"

She nodded, glancing over at Cole, "yeah, it might. But, what difference would that make? I've already seen him get jealous before. He was super jelly when Mr. T.K.O had his hands all over you last year."

I started laughing, just remembering my ex. "He was jealous of him?!"

"Don't act like there isn't a meaning for that nickname," she smirked, earning another smack from me.

"You're nasty," I told her, as we walked off to meet up with everyone else.

"And, you're no Mother Teresa yourself!"
