The baby

Simon got called to Izzy's room, after the emergency surgery. Catarina had something to say to him, something too magical to say in front of the mundane doctors.
The blue pastel room had welcomed Izzy after surgery with an enormous amount of flowers, all sent by the Institute and their people. Maybe some close Shadowhunters that just came back from Idris.
Dr.Loss's blue skin was weirdly not the first thing that caught Simon's attention. It was his fiancé, sleeping in her hospital bed.
But it didn't take too long for Simon to stare at Catarina and her skin.
-Hi. You called me, Simon asked calmly, trying not to show fear in his voice.
-Yes.
Loss took her bad news look and looked at Simon compassionate face.
-Isabelle is fine.
Simon sighted and smiled, betraying his calming attempt.
-But the baby... He is special. It looks like he has been sucking energy from Isabelle. Like he is almost siphoning from her.
-What? But... How?
-Like I said, he seems special. Almost magical.
-Well, the baby is a Shadowhunter.
-Not that kind of magic. More like... Warlock magic.
-Huh?
Loss sighted. She never was really good at explaining things to people who didn't even understand the first base kind of magic. She preferred talking to professional people.
-I'm saying; I think that your baby is a warlock.

Jace's pov

Jace was astonished. How could Simon and Isabelle's baby be a warlock?
This didn't make sense. They were both Shadowhunters. Unless Izzy had a baby with a demon... But no. Izzy had runes, and it would've killed the baby the first week. Then how...?
-I think he may be a warlock, said Dr.Loss, but I may be wrong. Look, it can't be possible, unless the baby was put there.
-How could it be put there, asked Clary, looking clueless.
-By magic, maybe, answered Catarina, unsure. I'm just saying possibilities, here. But I think it's possible. I mean, if there was a lot of warlock or a warlock very powerful and intend on putting the baby there. They could've used a Changer spell, or a Transporter spell. If the baby could survive in the new environment, the spell should have worked.
That what I think.
To their clueless looks, Catarina sighted and began to reexplain in another way.
-If a very powerful warlock would have wanted it very bad, he could have done it. All the baby needed was a perfect environment, like the belly of Izzy. Okay, her goes: I'm gonna take an ultrasound. Showing you will be better than explaining you.
Loss took a machine and some gel. She put it on Izzy's belly.
-And... Here. See the baby? That's a tail over here. That's why I think he is a warlock. And over here.... What the hell???
-What? What's wrong?
Simon looked as alarmed as Catarina.
-There's human baby and a baby warlock. How could we not have seen this? And in surgery???
Catarina shook her head, like if it was going to bring any answers. But then, she stopped abruptly.
-The baby is hidden with a spell! Of course! Baby warlock couldn't have been put in another belly, except if the other women was pregnant too!
-So, said Simon, our child is still in there? We just have to find out who put the baby warlock there.
Catarina nodded, happy she finally figured everything out. She looked at the ultrasound again, not sure.
-Did you know the sex of the baby?
Simon nodded.
-Yeah, we know it's a girl.
-Did you want to know the sex of the other baby?
-It's now even ours.
-Well, I doubt the warlock that put him there is gonna come back. So yeah, it is kinda your baby now.
-Well, sure then. Tell us.
-It's a girl, too. But you should know, she might be getting out sooner. Because if she doesn't, Izzy might die.
