Emma and Julian had set a day. The January 5th. They wanted a winter wedding in New-York. Then, Emma wanted to go shopping for houses. "Los-Angeles and New-York are not good enough to start a family. Let's pick a calmer place that is not crawling with demons." she said. Julian had no choice but to agree. Emma was setting pins and Julian was agreeing. That was the plan.
The wedding was to be in a few months. Before Izzy and Simon's. Their was in June.
Christmas was the perfect mood for Emma to plan the wedding. The church's bells were ringing, the trees were like ice sculptures, the snow was falling, the water was icing. Everything on the outside told you Christmas was coming, even if it was November. But to Emma, the only words sang to her heart were "I am getting married".
She hadn't a lot of people to tell. Maybe Jem, and of course Clary, Izzy, Simon, Alec, Jace and Magnus. But that was it. Julian told his sisters and brothers, who they too had married someone or were going to. Aline and Helen had gotten married years ago. The twins were on the verge to, like Tivvy. They wished everyday that their parents could see this, come back, but their wish never came true. They only had each other, but that was plenty enough.
It was in moments like those that Emma missed her parents the most. They died years ago, but she still wished they were there. Julian kept wondering if he could've saved his father and find a cure, and Emma could understand that. She wished the same.
Getting back to the point, Emma had no one. Who would walk her down the aisle? Who would help her make plans about the flowers, the dress and arrangements? Who would give her recommendations about their honeymoon place? There was only one answer: nobody. None, nada And so, she was kind of dreading having to ask someone to be her fake father to walk her and her beautiful dress down the aisle. She had thought about asking Helen, but it would be weird, sister and all that. Maybe Magnus, but they weren't close enough. With Jem, it could be nearly normal, but she was a little too shy. He was like her ancestor or grandpa or something. How could she ask? "I have no one. Can you walk me down the aisle, since you're my only blood relative left? And by the way, how are the twins? I wouldn't know, I didn't see them yet and I didn't buy them any gifts."
Okay, definitely not Jem.Clary's pov
Jace was there. He got up when he saw her, like there was nothing going on. The rage in Clary became more powerful. Jace was looking concerned, his lips partially parted. He looked at Clary, head to toes. His blond and gold hair were falling a little bit on his eyes. His lips... They were looking so soft, Clary only wanted to kiss them. But the Jonathan story was like a hand, pulling her, pulling her away from him. And if the story was a hand, the rage Clary felt was a freaking giant that only kept the horror fresh in her mind.
-Clare... How are you doing? Where were you?
-Don't. I'm not in the mood. Jace, I found out about Jonathan. How could you do this?
Jace's eyes showed pain and there was a silent question of redemption. He went to Clary and took her arms in his hands. He bent slightly and looked her in the eyes.
-Honey, please listen.
Clary shook his arms off. Jace began to talk, but her wife held her hand up, silencing him.
-I think, she said, I think you better have an excellent explanation if you want to sleep in your room tonight.
-Clary, I am so, so sorry. There was just... Dark thoughts about Jonathan, how Max wasn't there and he was. How I killed innocent people because of him. And I was thinking that, how Sebastian could show up, and suddenly he did. Jonathan woke up on a chair, tied up. But only because when we saw Kole and Sebastian took control, and Kole said it was him but I think...
-What? You're not making any sense. Speak clearly, not like a two year old.
Jace's face showed pain and hurt again, but he rapidly hid it.
-When we saw Kole, he said he could control Sebastian. Control when he showed up.
-But... How?
-Ok... Um, I got it. Think of it as two people. Jonathan is in control, everything is calm. Kole can open some kind of door, disturbing the calm. He basically opens the door, Sebastian just has to pass through it.
-Yes, but how? I mean, how does he opens that... Door?
-He says he has a special link to someone powerful.
-A special link?
-I don't know, I was getting to ask him about that part when Kole... Did a little demonstration, let's say. He opened the door for Sebastian to pull through. It was horrible, Jonathan was like dying all over again. I mean, I already saw how Jonathan came in control. It only shakes Sebastian a bit, but when Sebastian pulls through... It's going to kill Jonathan with time. And not only that, Jonathan has no memory of what he has done while Sebastian was possessing him. But Sebastian has memories of what Jonathan has done. We can't trust your brother, Clary, not because he might spill all of our secrets, but because Sebastian can watch and listen and when he is in control, can do anything. And we won't have a clue of what happened.Magnus's pov
Magnus didn't the hospitals. In fact, he hated them. They smelled horribly and looked like they were decorated in the 50s. Really, most of them were, but it didn't change the fact that it made Magnus think about all the dead people in his life. Mostly his former best friend, Ragnor Fell. And even his former love, Camille.
And today didn't make an exception. Isabelle Lightwood was in danger, a danger that only magic could prevent from getting out of hand. With every passing day, the situation was becoming more dangerous. He not only had to figure a way to get the magic baby out of Izzy's belly, he also had to figure out who the hell out the baby there.
