Hi! Thank you guys for checking this story out. Bullying, no matters the intention, is very serious, keep that in mind the message this chapter shows.
I never believed in bullies. I was always naive enough to think bullies were nonexistent. In my school, no one ever cornered or beat up the nerd. No one ever called people bad names. No one ever sat alone at lunch. No one was ever abused. No one was ever got swirlied. No one was ever insulted.
I thought bullying didn't exist.
And if it did, I surely wasn't a bully.
Except I was.
We all were.
Not because we beat kids up.
Or we called people freaks.
Or gave people swirlies.
Because we never did that
It was because we laughed.
We laughed as if it didn't matter.
We laughed because we thought it was funny.
And we thought everyone else found it funny.
And we thought the person we were laughing at found it funny too.
In our heads, we called people bad names and thought bad thoughts.
But never had we spoken foul words about them.
So, we weren't bullies.
But we laughed.
