With the scorching heat, my eyes flickered open.
The heat burnt my eyes so I kept my head low as it has always been.I couldn't see in the darkness but I knew it was there watching me, as I danced around in fear.
"Hello?" I called out "who's there?"
No echo, I soon realized."Welcome, little one" a raspy voice replied. I heard a little laugh and a huff.
I tried not to make a sound but it already knew I was there."Who are you?" I asked trying to hide the fear in my voice.
"No need to hide your fear. I can smell it, feel it, taste it." It dragged in the hot air with a loud noise "who am I? I am your savior, your salvation!."
I heard pride and power in its voice.
Shivers ran through me like an electric current as I searched within the darkness to find a face to the voice.
No luck there.
"What do you want from me?"
I asked with my head low and water on my cheeks..... Oh!..I mean tears.I heard a small sigh and then a loud thud.
"What do you want from me?" I said louder, my heart beating faster.
"What do you want from me?!" I screamed. The thud, which I figured were footsteps, were becoming distant.
I rose to my feet, lifted my head and yelled as loud as I could.
"What. Do. You. Want. From. Me?" My voice was stiff and my fists were clinched.I was taking in deeper breaths and forgot about the pain of the heat.
"Get back here!" I demanded "what do you want from me!?"
I had forgotten about the emotion called anger.
It was growing in my chest and damn.....I liked it.The steps become more distant till it faded.
