"Sam, what in the world are you wearing?" I turned to see my only friend Amy walking over to me.
"Erm, a long sleeve crop top with a overalls." I looked down at what I was wearing.
The overalls were shorts. I looked up at Amy who was dazed off. I saw Riley Cooper and that's when it hit me.
"Amy, omg I have something big to tell you." I slapped her arm.
"Ouch." She rubbed her arms.
"Riley Cooper is my step-brother!" I nearly shouted.
Her eyes widen as she looked over at Riley and his group of friends. She looked at me.
"Him?" She pointed her thumb towards him "When did this happen?"
"A week ago." I said looking at Riley.
He's a "bad boy" tattoos, dirty blonde hair. His eyes are what gets you. Hazel grey. Piercing hazel grey eyes. They gave you chills. Not me anyways. He looked over at me. I'm not the type to look away fast and act like I wasn't staring. He flipped me off. I nodded and did the same.
"Sucks he's going to be your brother, you'll be so cute together." Amy commented.
"No." I grabbed my books from my locker.
"Omg, y'all can be like those siblings with a secret relationship." Amy skipped next to me.
"Seriously, what the fuck are you on?" I laughed.
"Coffee." Amy laughed. "I had two cups. It's just now kicking in."
Great. The last time she had two cups of coffee we both ended up in detention. I sighed as we walked into the class room. Our teacher was in writing notes on the board. I sat down and pulled out my note. I wrote down everything as she wrote. Amy sat next to me doing the same. I take school kinda serious. The bell rang and students piled in. Riley being on of them who sits right in front of me.
I out my head down. I read ahead in the class. I'm done with everything. I'm good in English. With wanting to be a writer. I have to be.
"Riley, why aren't you writing this down?" The teachers voice was loud.
"Don't have a pencil or paper." He replied.
I rolled my eyes. That's his excuse for everything. It's starting to get old. I sighed. I remembered when I was invisible to Riley. Just a shadow to his world. Now, we're "family".
"Samantha, give Riley a pencil and paper please." She told me.
At least she said please. I grabbed a pencil and two sheets of paper. I handed them to him. He smiled.
"You're welcome." I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah, thanks." He said.
His voice was deep but not one of those deep manly voices.
"Okay class, the assignment for this week is going to be writing a essay about your family.
Me and Riley both froze. No way. He's not family. I don't care if my mom married his dad. He's not brother. The bell rang and I was first to leave.
"Sam!" Amy voices called for me.
She caught up with me. Her face had worry written all over it.
"He's not my family." I shook my head.
"Sam..." I cut her off.
"Why would my mom even marry his dad, she didn't even tell me. Like I really want a fuck boy as a brother. He's played so many girls...."
"Why do you care?" I spun around, Riley stood with his arms crossed.
"Because you're going around breaking their hearts." I gave him a duhh look.
"So, it's not my fault they got attached. They're just a simple fuck." He laughed.
"You're a soulless bitch." I walked away.
Those heart he broke. He doesn't realize the pain he's caused those girls. They'll never trust another guy again because of him.

School went by fast. Three classes with Riley and the rest with Amy. It's funny that me and Amy have every class together. But were not complaining. I sat on the couch eating a bowl of grapes as my mom walked in her husband. Wait what.
"What's going on?" I asked, confused as ever.
"Since our place is bigger the John's, him and his son is moving in with us." My mom smiled.
"Mom, I love you but this joke has gone too far." I laughed.
"Sam, it's not a joke." My mom gave me a sorry look.
I sighed. She knows I'm not over my dad death. I nodded and walked to my room. I turned on the TV watching Criminal Minds. My door opened. Riley was standing there.
"Get out." My voice showed no emotion.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Can you please get out!" I said annoyed as ever.
"Fine!" He shut my door.
I flopped back on my bed. I wanted this all to be a nightmare. There was a knock in my door before it opened.
"Samantha?" My mom's voice spoke up.
I sat up. She had a bottle of Pepsi and box of Cheez-its. Damn. She feels guilty.
"I'm sorry, I should have talked to you about it first. I love him, I'm happy." She sat in my bed. "It should always be about happiness."
"If you're happy then I'm okay." I opened the Pepsi taking a sip. "But don't expect me to call him dad and his son is not my brother. He's not my family."
"Deal." She hugged me. "I'm going to go get dinner started."
