I woke up the next and everything went back to normal. I got dressed for school and left. I was getting my books out of my lockers as Riley and his friends walked back laughing. So glad I got my baby back. I hated riding with him and his friends. He looked at me and flipped me off. I rolled my eyes. Why all of sudden I'm visible to him. Before I was invisible. A shadow in his world. A nobody.
Still am.
I went to class early. Amy texted me saying she's not coming to school. Great. I put my head down as the teacher wrote notes. Talk about déjà vu. I wrote the notes down quickly as the bell rang. Riley walked in with a girl by his side. As usual. I put my head back down.
"Riley, you do this every time." The teacher sounded annoyed.
I knew what was coming next.
"Samantha, give him a paper and pencil." She said. "Please."
I looked at her. She can't be serious. Why doesn't she just give him a detention. I rolled my eye and gave him what he needed.

The day went by fast. I got home before Riley. I took a shower, eat a snack and took over the living room tv. I was watching Dancing with The Stars when Riley walked in with a random girl.
"Oh wow." I was shocked.
"Come on babe." He lead her to his room.
"Wonderful." I turned up the tv.
Riley soon came out with the girl. She walked out and flipped him off. He flopped down next to me.
"So what happened?" I asked.
"She had a boyfriend." He frowned. "I don't fuck around with girls in a relationships."
"Good." I got up but he pulled me back down.
His arms wrapped around me. I sighed and moved so that I was comfortable. His arms stayed wrapped around me. I rested my head on his shoulder as he switched the channel.
"Besides playing girls...Do you play any sports?" I asked.
"No, just work out?" He said. "You?"
"I used to dance." I sighed.
"Why'd you stop?" He asked me.
I knew he was looking at me. I looked at him. His hazel grey eyes searching my brown eyes.
"I stopped after my father passed." I sighed.
"I'm sorry." He rubbed my shoulder. "My mother passed, when I was little."
I looked up at him. I didn't know that. Maybe that's why he doesn't know how to treat a girl. I didn't know it until it happened. Our lips connected. It wasn't just a kiss. It was so much more. It had love, passion, care. I was confused. I pulled away quick.
"We can't." I got up and ran to my room.
I closed the door and leaned against it.
He wants you because he can't truly have you.
That's not true. He actually feels for you.
Yeah, right all those hearts he broke. He'll do the same to Samantha.
"Shut up." I covered my ears.
I hated the voices. Tears ran down my face. Why am I crying? Is it because I'm falling for him everyday. I'm attracted to Riley. I'll admit that. Is it because I'm scared that I might end up like the rest of them. Broken.
You can't break something that's already broken.
You can shatter it too the point where there is no repair.
"Ahrg." I banged my head on the door.
"Samantha?" Riley's voice called from the other side. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that."
I didn't answer him. I didn't want him to regret that kiss. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it so much that I'm scared.
"Sam..." I stood and opened the door.
"Don't apologize for the kiss." I said. "It won't happen again."
I walked past him and he grabbed my hand. He pinned me against the wall.
"Each day, I'm in this damn house with you, it's like torture." He ran his finger down the side of my face. "From the moment I laid eyes on you, I wanted you."
His voice gave me chills.
"When was that?" I asked.
"Years away, ninth grade." He admitted.
I pushed him away. What!
"Ninth grade! Do you realize we probably could have been together and that our parent wouldn't be married!" I shouted. "Like I said before. Leave me alone."
I walked into the kitchen right as John and my mom walked in. I sighed with relief. I wasn't here alone with Riley anymore. He walked into the kitchen. He stood there staring at me.
"What." I looked at him.
"Why?" He asked me.
"I should be saying that to you." I grabbed a box of cereal from the cabinet.
"I don't think you know how much you mean to Sam." He moved closer too me.
"I don't think you know how much you're annoying me right now." I poured my cereal in a bowl and grabbed the milk.
"Why are you being so complicated." Riley rolled his eyes.
"Complicated. Me?" I pretended to be in shock. "You're the player here, I will not have my heart played with again. So please leave me alone."
"What's going on here?" My mom walked in.
"Riley's trying to hook me up with one of his player friends." I lied. "Can you tell him to leave me alone and that I'm not interested."
"You heard her Riley." My mom gave him a sorry look.
Riley walked out. My mom turned too me. She shook her head.
"Tell me what's really going on." She moved next too me. "I know when you're lying."
I opened my mouth. Should I tell her? Oh so now the voices wanna shut up. I looked up at her. She had that knowing look on her face. What does she know?
"It's nothing." I walked out to see Riley and his dad sitting on the couch.
I went straight to my room. So much for a things going back to normal. I sighed and flopped down my bed.
"Samantha! Eric is here!" My mom shouted.
I jumped out my bed and ran to him. I grabbed his arm and pulled him to my room.
"I have something to tell you. I need to tell Amy too so we'll just face-time her." I said needing to get what just happened off my chest.
