We walked into the house. Amy shouted. Samantha's eyes widen with joy. She ran to her best friend. I smiled.
"I have so much to tell you." Samantha looked at me.
"Okay but first let's party." Amy cheered.
I barely got time with Samantha. I went into my room grabbing the little grey box. I opened it. I wanna ask her to marry me. To be mine forever. I signed, putting it in my pocket and walked back to the party. Samantha ran too me.
She kissed me with a huge smiled in her face. I wrapped my arms around her. My beautiful girlfriend, hopefully soon to be fiancé. I kissed her back. Sparks flying in air. I love this girl. I always have, always will.
"I told Amy and Eric and everything, they're happy for us." She kissed me again.
"Sam." Her mom walked up.
She turned around. As she was distracted I got down on one knee pulling out out small grey box. Everyone whispered. Samantha turned around, her hand went over her mouth as her eyes watered. I took a deep breath. Here goes nothing.
"From the moment I met you, I knew you were the one. I loved you since middle school. Samantha, I want you..I need you. You're the light to my darkness. My sunshine. I can't live without you. I want us to grow old together, I will love you even when we're ghost." Tears ran down my face. "There's no one else in this world that can make me feel this way but you."
She stood, tears running down her face. I opened the box. I laughed when Amy shouted say Yes.
"Samantha Bridges, will marry me?" I asked.
"I'm sorry." She sniffed.
My heart dropped. Is she saying no?
"That you have to spend the rest of your life with me." She smiled.
"Is that a yes." My heart beat quickened.
"Yes!" She squealed.
I stood putting the ring on her finger. I picked her up spinning her around.
"Without you, I'm a train wreck." I kissed her.
"Without you, I'm a nobody." She cried, kissed me deeply.
"Let's celebrated!" Her mom shouted.
We spent the day celebrating. Samantha couldn't stop smiling. I swear her face was stuck like that. Everything was going good until her ex showed up.
"Who the fuck invited him." I shouted.
"Riley, baby calm down." Samantha grabbed me.
My body relaxed.
"Samantha, I want you back." His was triggered something inside me.
"Too late, she's mine." I stepped forward. "Now leave."
"Not without Samantha." He went to grab for her but I moved in front of her.
I punched him in the face. He swung back hitting me in my jaw. I stared at him touching my jaw. I felt the storm of anger rise inside of me. I punched him in the stomach making him topple over. I grabbed his leg and drug him to the door. Once I got the door opened, I drug him into the yard.
"This is a warning, if you ever come near my fiancé again, I will hurt you." I went to walk away but he grabbed me making me fall.
He climbed on top of me sending punches to my face. I flipped us over punching him twice as hard. Samantha ran up grabbing me. My body relaxed. I picked her up and went inside. I out her down. I felt the blood drip from my face.
She grabbed my hand leading me to the bathroom. I sat in the toilet. She got a washcloth wet. I hissed as she wiped my cut.
"I'm sorry." I mumbled.
"Don't be, he had that coming." She smiled down at me.
Once I was cleaned up everyone was gone. We all sat around the table eating dinner. I watched my beautiful fiancé looked at her ring. Her eyes shined with love. Love for me. My dreams finally came true.
"So when is the wedding?" Her mom smiled.
"After we graduated." I smiled.
"Sounds like a plan." Samantha looked at me.
After dinner. I took Samantha to the lake. I knew she loved that place. We pulled up and she looked at me. Her eyes lit up with joy. She hopped out. I turned on slow dancing music as I walked over to her.
"My not know how to dance like you but I can slow dance." I laughed pulled her close to me.
We danced slow. Her body close to mine. Her arms wrapped around my neck. We danced under the moonlight. Her head resting on my chest.
"I love you." I kissed her cheek.
"Mm, I love you." She mumbled, just enjoying the moment.
I couldn't have asked for anything different. The fireflies came out. It was beautiful, just like the girl in my arms.
