I believe that I've become a much better writer and let me tell you, when I was reading through the original chapter 1 it was pretty badly written....So I am going to edit through each chapter and THEN UPDATE TO CHAPTER 16 OR WHATEVER CHAPTER. lol this is for 2 reasons 1. I'm not super happy with the story I've written 2. I can't remember for my life what i was doing with this story next.

Well enjoy the newly improved chapter 1, and to new readers, just enjoy :)))))))))

I slowly trudged through my normal morning routine, dreading the next part of my day. School was probably the worst thing I’ve ever had to go to. Maybe I could just skip today; I thought as I looked in the mirror, but someone would catch me, they always do. The same empty and lifeless green eyes stared back at me. My wavy hair stretched down slightly past my shoulders like it always had. My baby fat still hadn’t decided to leave my body yet, even though I was already a sophomore. The same thoughts crossed my mind as I thought about how much I loathed the person that I was looking at. I sighed grabbing my bag, and slowly walked outside.

The halls of my high school were crowded, but as usual I felt isolated. I was an outcast because I was made fun of by him. The one guy that everybody followed, because if they didn’t he would just complain and they would be punished. It sucked. As I tried to maneuver my way through the crowd ignoring the jokes about me and the sneers, I noticed my brother was standing next to the guys that were laughing at me. He was just like them. He didn’t care about me.

I had to take care of myself because my parents went on a mission but never returned, so we could only assume they were dead. Suddenly, I was snapped out of my thoughts when I bumped into someone.

Him. Zachary Millers, the very person who decided to ruin my life. Son of the alpha and the most popular boy in school. He wrapped his arms protectively around his girlfriend, Cassidy. “Careful you might get some kind of disease.” He said.

She laughed and looked at me, “What are you still looking at, pig. God knows how you ended up as a wolf instead of a stupid swine.”

“I’m not a pig.” I tried to get out, but it only came out as a whisper.

“Excuse me? What was that, pig?” She sneered.

“My name is Raven. Raven Anderson.” Tears welled up in my eyes.

“Well then,” Zachary started, “If you’re a bird, why don’t you fly away?” He made a ‘shoo’ motion with his hands. People within earshot laughed.

“How can you say that to me?” I said choked up, “I’m…I…your…mate.” I hiccupped between each word, making the sentence hard to understand.

“Mates? With you?” He let out a roar of laughter, “Not even in your dreams, pig.”

That was it, I’d had enough. Running outside, I was immediately hit with the hot, humid summer air. I dropped all my things and ran as fast as I could to my house. When I reached it, I only cried more. I quickly ran up the stairs, sobbing as I gathered necessities.

“This is it,” I said to myself, “I can’t take this anymore. I’m leaving, for good.”

I  pulled out some pen and paper.

‘Dear Justin,’ I began to write my brother’s name, ‘It’s your dearest sister, finally leaving. I’ve had enough of everything that’s happened. Of you all treating me like shit. This is what you wanted anyway, right? For me to leave? Either way, it’s what I wish. Even after everything, I hope you have a wonderful life without me. I hope you are happy knowing I’m finally away from the dreadful place I called my home.

                                                                                                                                                With love, Raven

I quickly grabbed something to cover my scent, and was on my way. I walked for a bit until I reached the edge of the woods, signaling the end of our town. There was only one thought on my mind as I took my first step into the thick foliage.

I took a deep breath, “I’m finally free.”
