Raven’s POV

An answer? The only thing I could wrap my head around because of Jace and Zach was the word shit. Yeah, that is it. I wasn’t sure how to respond to Jace either, did I love him? I held on tighter to Zach as he made a turn which wasn’t helping. But I had to remember that just because one time we talked and didn’t rip each others head of doesn’t mean that I loved him anymore. I had excepted Zach and he rejected me.

Zach pulled into the driveway and I climbed off the bike Zach following after.  I knew that Jace would be inside, waiting for me. I knew that something bad was going to happen, absolutely nothing can come good out of a situation like mine. “Zach,” I said, sighing as I turned around, “When we go inside just…just go upstairs. I don’t want this to turn out with a run in to the hospital.” I knew he would protest so I held up a finger as my other hand came in contact with the door knob, “Just don’t.”

The air was cool when I stepped inside and Zach quickly ran upstairs like I told him. “Jace?” I asked calling his name out. I spotted him in the living room and I walked so I was in front of him. “Listen I-“

“Don’t you dare speak.” He boomed. My mouth open and closed like a fish. He laughed wildly and it made me take a step back.

“Jace what is wrong with you?”  My hands clenched into fists as I took another small step back.

“He told me you planned it, that you told Zach to do anything to get me away even if for a while.” Jace said unpleasantly.

“Who’s telling you this Jace? I never told Zach anything-“ He cut me off again.

“I only wanted to help you. We were both hurt and I loved you and then find out it only took a hospital trip to get you to go out with Zach.” I was becoming more and more confused and scared by the second. Who had told Jace these lies? How could he have fallen for these lies so easily?  He wasn’t…crazy earlier.

This isn’t like him, at all. I needed to find who worked these lies into Jace’s brain so quickly considering that he wasn’t yelling at me earlier today.

“No need to choose anymore,  I’ve saved you the time.”

Maybe, if I hadn’t been so focused on Jace screaming at me, which seemed impossible at that moment, and maybe if I hadn’t turned to go run up to Zach to ask him what was happening and maybe, just maybe if I had looked into the kitchen that sat directly across from the living room with only a hallway separating it, I could have seen the man that was smiling in the window as if he’d just won the world and everything beyond it. But only maybe.

Well sorry it's been forever since I've updated, and sorry that this chapter is so short. Bleh I even thought the end was incredibly creepy but it has to do with the story so... let's just go with that for now
