Chapter 7
Travis POV
(BTW this takes place like a month later...in the previous chapter it was June now it's July)
"Yah, okay peoples back to the cabin" said Conner. "Once everyone was accounted for in there bed me and Conner went to the councilors room.
(Remember councilors get there own room, but Travis and Conner are co councilors)
"Dude tomorrow is Fireworks" said Conner loudly. "Shh Conner don't wake everyone" I said putting my hand over my brothers mouth. "Oh, yah sorry" he said moving my hand away from his mouth. "What are you and Miranda planning now" I asked. "No, not that" said Conner. "Ok good, and next time not in the tree house" I said in all seriousness.
"Besides she wants to just watch the fireworks and hang out" said Conner. "Ok dude" I said getting into the bottom bunk. "What are you and Gardner planning" he said climbing into the top bunk. "Nothing, I don't know" I said.
"Uh huh" said Conner. I kicked his mattress. "Goodnight Conner" I said turning out the lamp. "Night" said Conner.
I woke up to a dirty sock in my face. "Gross" I said. "Good your up" said my younger brother Adam poking his head in through the door. "Adam what's going on" I said wiping the sleep out of my eyes. "Well, we are going to breakfast and Conner said to wake you" said the ten year old boy.
"Y'all go ahead, I'm gonna skip" I said. "Okay, bye" said Adam closing the door. "Surprise Gardner" I said thinking out loud. I headed out the door of my cabin and made my way to the strawberry fields. "I get to where Katie would be farming that day, only so find her there. "What are you doing here" I asked. "Gardening, and why aren't you at breakfast" she said not looking up from the ground. "I'd like to ask you the same thing" I said kneeling down to her level.
"Miranda was asked to help with the firework display, so I needed to get extra work done" she said looking at me. "Okay" I said nonchalantly. "Why are you here" Katie asked. "Is that a problem" I asked hurt. She looked back at the ground, continuing to garden. "No, I'm just wondering" Katie said.
"I came to ask if you would like to go to the fireworks with me" I asked in a matter of fact tone. "Yah okay" she said. "See you later" I said. I then kissed her one the cheek, stood up and walked away.
Later that day
I went into the Demeter cabin and into the councilors room. "Hey Katie Kates" I said standing in the door way of her room. "Travis" she said shocked and putting down the book she was reading. "Ready to go" I asked. "Yah" she said walking over to me. "Let's go" I said.
Once we arrived to the beach, we sat down next to each other (dah). "Fireworks" she said once they had started. "Yup" I said. Katie then layed her head in my lap. I smiled and we watched the fireworks.
After the fireworks finished she stood up. "I'm gonna head back to my cabin" said Katie. "I'll walk you back" I said standing up and holding her hand. "Night Trav" she said once we got back to her cabin. "Night" I said letting her hand go. Then she pecked me on the lips and went into her cabin. I walked away from the Demeter cabin smiling.
