Rylei's POV

Maggie stands over a pale and sick Beth. Her hands on her forehead as she talks to Lori.

"What's wrong with her?" Maggie asks Lori.

"I think she's in shock. I couldn't find Herchel..." Lori states as she looks at me worried as I stand next Glenn.

"I'm gonna go talk to Rick, see what the hell is goin on." I tell Glenn quietly. He nods his head as I walk out of the room quietly. I walk down the wooden floors of the hallway until I reach, what I am assuming, is Herschel's room.

Shane, Rick, and Lori all stand in the room going threw things and talking. "Where's Herchel?" I ask to anyone that's listening.

"I don't know..." Rick says looking up to me. I hear loud footsteps walk down the hall as they get closer. Maggie and Glenn enter the room and look at me, then at everyone else.

Maggie comes to stand by me, and Glenn walks over to the open closet. "These your step mother's things?" Rick asks as he goes threw a box full of old clothes. He looks up to Maggie as Glenn walks out of the closet and stands next to me.

"He was always sure she would recover, that they would pick up where they left off." Maggie says as she leans against the dresser.

Shane puts a small picture down on the dresser he leans against and picks up a black flask. He jumbles it in his hands then speaks. "He looks like he found an ol' friend." Shane says as he throws it to me.

I catch it and look down at the piece of metal. I move it around in my hands. "That belonged to my grandfather, gave it to dad when he died." Maggie says. I hand her the flask and she looks at it.

"I didn't think Herchel for a drinker." Rick says as he moves his weight from one foot to the other. Maggie stares at the flask as if it was the devil himself.

"No. He quite drinkin after I was born, he didn't even let liquor in the house."

"Hey Maggie, what's the bar in town?" I ask straightening up slightly. "Hatlen's, he practically lived there in his drinkin days." She says. Rick comes over to her.

"Then that's where well find 'em." Rick looks at me. I nod my head. "Hey, I've seen the place. I can take you." Glenn says from besides me.

"Alright, I'll get the truck." Rick says while walkin out. Maggie jumps in front of Glenn protesting his go. Rick stops and looks at them.

"Hey, Maggie." She looks at him. "I'll bring him back." And then he is out of the room. I follow after Rick as quick as I can. He is only a few feet away from the door before I reach him.

"So when we leavin?" I ask him as casual as I can. He stops and turns to me. "You aren't goin." He states. I look at him with disbelief.

"And why not?" I ask crossing my hands over my chest.

"Because you're hurt, that's why. And I also need someone besides Maggie keepin an eye on Beth." He says. Before I can say anything more Lori comes running out the door and stops, Shane on her tail. She sees us standing there. I nod my head in understanding that I'm not going, and that she wants to talk to her husband.
