My Pet Demon

Chapter 5

The girl woke up to see herself staring at a pair of bright blue eyes. She yelped and immediately shot up from her sleeping position and backed away. Rin laughed at her reaction.

"Good morning! Sorry if I scared you, but I brought you breakfast," he said sheepishly while unlocking the cage door. He then lay a tray in the cage before closing the cage door again and walked to the door. She stared at his retreating figure. He rested his hand on the doorknob and said: "Well, I'm off to school. Be good! Bye!" Before exiting the room.

The girl stared at the door and sighed silently. She began to eat her breakfast when the door suddenly slam opened, making her choke on a bite of sausage.

"Anddddddd I also left some manga for you to read so you won't be so bor- Hey! Are you alright?!" The girl continue to hack and Rin rushed in the room and opened her cage door. He carried the coughing girl out and hit her back, trying to help her cough out the piece of sausage. He took a glass of milk he prepared and gave it to her. She quickly gulped down the milk and her coughing subsided. Rin sighed relieved.

The girl tried to stand straight again, but her legs went soft all a sudden and she fell, pulling Rin along. Rin let out a girly scream and sticked both his arms out to break his fall and avoid smashing the girl. When he reopened his eyes, he saw the awkward position they were in. His hands were placed both sides of her head, his body hovering on top of hers. One of his leg was in between hers and her legs spread open. He erupted into a blushing mess.

He was about to stand up and apologised when the door swung open again. "Nii-san, what's wrong? I heard a scream-" he trailed of seeing their position.

"Nii-san..." Yukio said, obviously furious. Anger seeped out of him. "Noooo!! Yukio, I swear it's nothing like that!! She was choking, so I had to bring her out of her cage, then she fell and I fell and-" Rin blabbed. Yukio sighed,calming himself down. "Whatever. Just lock her back and we need to go." He said and went out of the room. Rin sighed in relief. He carried the girl and gently put her back in the cage. Once he make sure she was good, he closed the cage door. "Sorry for just now. Just think of it as nothing." He apologised sheepishly. The girl just stared at him.

Once out of the room, Rin sighed and scratched the back of his head. Having the girl look at him was some progress, but he wanted the girl to talk to him. I guess it also takes time.

Back at the girl, after Rin exited the room, she went back to finish her breakfast. She needed to admit, the food was delicious. Her mind drifted back to what had happened. The guy- Rin, was it? He seemed so embarressed about that fall. She couldn't understand why. She shrugged the question off and continue eating.
