Annabeth's POV

Lunch was always my favorite part of the day. Despite my small frame I have always eaten more then my fill. Food is how I have dealt with everything in my life.

Walking towards the lunch line I started to notice the huge amount of people blanatly staring at me. I wonder why people are looking at me, do I have something on my face? I quietly thought to myself as I piled my plate full of food. After paying for my lunch and found a small, vacant table. Usually, while I ate I would read, but I forgot my book in my haste to get to school this morning. Instead I took out my phone and began playing games while I carelessly snacked. Unbeknownst to me, I suddenly felt the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I looked around, nobody seemed to be paying attention to me anymore. I scanned to masses quickly, my heart started to flutter as I tried yet again to find the source. I must be over reacting.

"Hey," a voice from behind me squeaked. I jumped, startled by the voice. I looked up to see Jake from my first period staring down at me.

"Uhm, hi?" I replied back, without emotion.

"Mind if I sit here?" he said, gesturing toward the empty table.

"Knock yourself out" I said with a small smirk forming on my lips. As soon as he sat down I hopped up throwing my trash away. I turned back, blew him a kiss and stalked out of the lunch room with a giggle begging to escape my lips.

As soon as I had exited the doors I ran smack dab into what felt like a solid door. The crash knocked be backwards causing me to falling flat on my ass.

"Son of a bitch" I complained, not bothering to see what I ran into as I got up, rubbing my back side.

"Well, hello there, little lady" a soft, southern, musky voice whispered from my immediate right.

Upon hearing the voice, I whipped around to see a tall, stocky male. Creamy tan skin stretched taunt over solid looking muscles. The most startling attribute wasn't his body as much as it was his eyes. Dark violet orbs looked down at me with concern and something I couldn't quite put my finger on.

"Are you okay?" the man asked. His voice sounding like honey oozing out from a deep place inside of him. Lost in his voice and captivated by his eyes I just stood there, mouth open and everything.

"Uhm, yeah. I'm fine." I finally managed to say after what felt like an eternity.

He smiled down at me, I could feel his breath on my face. Smelling spicey and unknown, all I could do was stand there in awe.

"I'm Mikey, you wanna come sit with me?" the beautiful voice asked. "Uhm, sure." My voice came out timid and shy. Mentally yelling at myself for not sounding strong I started to follow Mikey back into the cafe.

Mikey reached out and grabbed my hand, leading me around the now packed room. My small pale hand looked out of place inside of his large, tan, bear paw of a hand. It was so warm. I meantally forced myself to relax in his hand as I let myself be lead around. He seemed to be taking the most complicated way to a table, when we finally stopped at a table I looked up to see Jake sitting there, looking up at us with a hint of annoyance in his eyes. I wonder what he's so upset about. I wondered while trying hard not to roll my eyes.

"Jake, my man." Mikey barked as he clamped a hand down on Jake's shoulder.
