(Annabeth's POV)

After Sarah told me the good news, I was so happy I cried. I couldn't believe it. After all this time, all the running. It was finally over.

We celebrated as a family, Sarah, Tony and I. I can't ever remember feeling so happy and at peace.

A knock at my bedroom door let me know that Jake was here.

"Come in" I yelled, not so loud I  woke up Sarah from her nap but loud enough to be heard thru the door.

I smiled at him as he walked thru the door. A short, tan, blonde stepped in after him. She wore to much make up, but you could still tell she was beautiful.

"Anna," Jake said, "This is Claire, my girlfriend."

What?! I didn't know he even dated. What the fuck. I struggled not to frown. Why am I not happy for him?

"Oh, hi, I'm Annabeth." I smiled at her politely. I don't like her. I can't explain why but I don't. She seems fake.

Jake's arm snaked around her waist as he led her farther into my room, I frowned again bit quickly regained composer.

"So, what do you wanna do today?" Jake asked.

"Lets go to the fair." Claire piped up. Her voice was whiney and high pitched. I disliked her even more.

After twenty minutes of planning, I kicked Jake and her out to get ready.

I pulled on some black skinny jeans and grey senior hoodie before pulling my hair up in a bun at the top of my head.

I didn't really wanna bother with make up so I cleaned up the left over from yesterday and slipped on my white moccasins.

I pulled open my door only to see Jake and Claire kissing. It looked heated, Jake was pressed against the wall with Claire wrapped around him like a second skin.

My stomach dropped. I felt my jaw hang open. Jake's eyes flickered to my face and he gently pushed Claire off of him.

"Are you ready to go?" He asked, his voice low and husky.

Heat rose to my cheeks and the back of my neck. "Uhm, Ye, Yeah." I sputtered out.

(Mikey's POV)

I don't know why I am at this stupid fair. Could be worse though. I could still be in jail. I'm happy they let me go with more community service. But fuck. I need to stop getting caught.

A flash of impossibly red hair and Jake's face startled me out of my thoughts.

Making my way over, I could see the annoyed look on Annabeth's face. I wonder what she was so annoyed with.

She saw me apporaching and her face lit up. Oh, that's new. No one is ever happy to see me.

She darted towards me and threw herself around me. Hugging me tightly. I wrapped my arms around her awkwardly and hugged her back.

"Your here! I was worried about you, I haven't seen you in almost a month!" she chattered excitedly. Her voice some what muffled by my shirt.

I looked down at her and smiled. Like she had just realized what she was doing, she stepped back and flushed.

"Aww, Anna, your cute when you blush." I teased her, throwing my arm over her shoulders and walking towards Jake.

"Hey man, long time no see." I joked and smiled at him.

He had a girl with him. Pretty but she looked to fake for my taste.

We talked for a little while, he said the blonde was his girlfriend and that he had to take her home soon.

"Do you wanna stay here with me Anna?" I whispered next to her earlobe. Taking pleasure in the blush that rose up her cheeks.

"Yes." She whispered back, sounding nervous.

Looking up at my best friend and his blonde bimbo, "Anna is gonna stay here with me. Ill take her home."

"Are you sure Annabeth?" Jake said, looking Anna square in the face.

She nodded, smiling as they turned and walked towards the parking lot.

"Now its just me and you, short stuff."

Annabeth looked up at my thru hee eyelashes and smiled a small, shy smile. Taking her hand I started to lead her all around the fair looking for something she liked. Finally, after over thirty minutes we settled in the Ferris wheel.

The crater faced kid working the ride stared at Anna and stuttered over his words. To be honest, I felt bad for the kid. Especially since she didn't even notice and was staring off into space.

I called her named to get her attention and she gave the guy her tickets and we climbed into a seat.
