...."We're going to play a game, my dear, Annabeth." His voice cruel and unyielding as his coal colored eyes bore into me.

Suddenly, feeling even more scared of him than I already ways, I started to back away. His face twist with amusement, "Run little Annabeth. Run away as fast as you can. But believe me, Ill always find you. No matter where you go."

Before his words could fully sink in, I turned on my heels and ran sprinter style. I could still feel his eyes on me as I rounded the corner. I ran and ran. I couldn't stop....

I jolted awake at the sound of my alarm. I could feel that my cheeks were damp. Fear rose in my throat as I looked around my room. Searching for anything amiss. Waiting for him to pop out at any given time. Finally, after what felt like hours, the lump in my throat started to lossen. I crawled out of bed carefully. Still waiting for my impending doom.

After rushing around to get ready, I finally came down stairs. My sister was busying doing dishes in the kitchen, singing softly to the baby. I smiled and quietly grabbed my keys, trying hard not to distribution her. I slipped out the door and started my car. Pulling out of the drive way, careful not to plow over the mailbox. It was then I noticed, the package sitting in my back seat. I trapped my breaks hard in surprise. I reached back to grab it, but thought better of it. It can wait till after school. I don't want to be late.

I was one of the last people to arrive at the school, forcing me to park in the farthest lot. I grabbed my bag and darted towards the doors. I barely made it to my first class before the bell rang. Breathing heavy I slumped down into an open seat. Unaware of my surrounds. I pulled my book out and started to look for the assignment on the board. When I feel a tap on my shoulder and a square piece of paper flys into my lap. I look behind me to see Jake grinning down at me. I roll my eyes and start to open the note.

We should hang out sometime.

I quickly wrote back.

When? Hang out how?

I flipped the paper back to him, careful not to let the teacher catch us.

Tonight. As friends.

I wrote him back and okay and gave him my number. A few minutes later my phone buzzed in my pocket letting me know he had texted me his. I didn't bother to check it.

A few minutes later my phone went.off again. I drug it out and looked at it.

412-897-4534

Hey, This is my number. -Jake.

412-897-4534

What, am I not important enough? /:

I type as quickly and quietly as possible.

Excuse me, I'm trying to be a good student. Fuck off(:

I hit the send button and then save his number.

We texted back any forth all morning. Making jokes about the teachers and our classmates. teasing each other. It was nice to feel relaxed, he was an easy guy to.get along with. We decided to meet at my house later. After school he would follow me home so he would know the way for "future reference" he said.

[End of the school day]

As I made my way to my car I couldn't help but be a little sad that Mikey hadn't been at school today. Not that it matters, I told myself. But it didn't help the little pang I had at not seeing him.

"Yo, you think you can keep up?" I yelled arcoss the lot to Jake.

"Easy," was the simple response I was given.

I turned up my sound system, making it thump lightly and headed off towards my house. Speeding lightly. Despite my complicated twists and turns, he kept up. As we reached my house I slowed and pulled into the drive way, while Jake pulled up to the curb. After unlocking the door I told Jake to make himself at home while I changed.

Once I was in my room I tore of my school clothes. I pulled on my gray, faded boyfriend style sweats and a white t-shirt. As I walked down the stairs, I pulled my hair up into a knot on the top of my head.

I found Jake in the kitchen, talking to my sister, scarfing down on her home made cookies. Who could blame him. My sister made the world's most amazing chocolate chip cookies, the melt in your mouth kind.

When I first entered the kitchen, neither one of then noticed me. Not bothered by it, I went to the refrigerator and grabbed two orange sodas. Then I turned the cabinet and grabbed two bags of chips, and a flat of oreos.

I turned to the two and waited till the noticed me.

Jake was the first to notice.

"Your sister makes the best cookies!" he all but yelled at me.

"Don't I know it," smiling at my sister, "Well, come on. Lets go."

He smiled back at my sister and asked if he could take the cookies with him. Of course my sister told him yes.

He started after me, "Where are we going?"

I stopped short, ignoring his question as we reached the right door. I threw it open, waiting for the look on his face.

The room before him was what I likes to call my girl cave. The walls were purple with black splatter on them. Video game and band posters hung framed on the walls. On the back wall, towards the left corner was an L shaped, cream colored couch, cutting the room in half. Directly in front on the couch was a coffee table and huge wall mounted TV. There were shelves under the TV that held my Xbox and PlayStation. Behind the couch was a pool table ontop of a black shag area rug.

Behind me I heard Jake take a sharp breath in.

"Woah, what is this place?"

"My girl cave." I answered him, walking into the room and putting down all the snacks.

"Wow." He exclaimed, rushing over to the book case that held all of my DVDs, games, and my favorite books.

"Pick a co-op game and we can play." I said flopping down on the couch and putting my feet up.

[3 hours later]

After three hours of vegging out in front of the game we decided to take a break.

"Wanna play pool?" I asked him, before shoving more chips in my mouth.

"Nah, I'm not any good." was his answer, he looked away like he was embarrassed by it.

"Wanna watch TV? Or friends?" I offered.

"Hmm, friends seems good." he said, smiling down at me.

I grabbed the box set I had and put in a random disk. For the next few hours we watched friends, laughing and joking about the plot and the characters.

Around 9 Jake had to leave, we made plans to hang out the next day after school. He said he would text me. After he left I went upstairs and did my homework. Blech. Homework. Inhumane is what it is.

[Jake's POV]

After leaving Annabeth's house, I picked up a pizza and headed home.

Hanging out with Annabeth was so easy. She was easy to laugh and joke with. As cheesy as it sounds he really hoped they would become friends.

I parked in the garage and noticed that his dads car was missing. Thank God!  He thought to himself. I have the whole placed to myself. I ate the pizza on his room, while texting Annabeth. They joked about history and after awhile Annabeth said good night.

I layed in bed after that. Staring at the ceiling. My eyelids began to feel heavy, so I gave into sleep.
